Greetings

I heard, indirectly from the USCIS, that the LIFE Act was temprary and expired in 2003.

Has anyone else heard this or is aware of this??

I will be getting a better explanation of this from my Senator's office.

Just thought I would put this out there and see/hear what you know about this....

Funny how they give all the info on the LIFE act on the website but they don't say anything about it being expired or being temporary.

Why is is still there if it is no longer valid??? They are all Crazy !

That is funny because I asked the aide does that mean that the K-3/4s visa which were/are implemented by the LIFE Act are no longer valid.

He told me that he expects this in writing in the next week or two but, I was floored when he told me this.

OBTW, he was speaking with someone from the USCIS headquarters which is scary!

As soon as I get the official answer I will post it....

Absolutely shocking!

The LIFE act had some time limitations (and windows) for those who were already here (amnesty provisions) but I believe the family unity provisions for the K3 visa were intended to continue indefinitely. I cannot find anything on the web that indicates otherwise. I would be highly surprised if something this significant could slip past all of the visa attorneys out there.

I Pm'd ya earlier.

The only "time limitations" that I am aware of or could find were based on people already residing here who wanted to "legalize' their stay. They were intitially given until MAy 03, then it was pushed back 'till June 03.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
