My fiancee has just sent off our application for a K1 Visa to the California office. Can anyone tell me how long it should be from now until I have to attend the London Embassy?

Also how long if we are not regected will the whole process take?

Also can I visit my fiancee in the USA while I am waiting for Visa?

It took a little over 2 months until our petition got approved. After that, things went pretty fast.

I hope, you already used the new I-129F forms??

And no, actually it is not possible to visit your fiance in the States. They will pretty sure deny entry to the States while processing your case.

I called the embassy with the same question and the lady there strongly suggested that my fiance rather comes to see me here in Germany.

Thanks for this. Did you only have the one interview at the London Embassy?

Did you take an Attourney with you or is it ok to just attend on your own?

How long did your interview last?

Most people on this site don't use an attorney--the website answers all our questions.

It is my understanding that you MUST attend the interview alone(no attorneys allowed), and that there is just one interview in London.

Check out other people's timelines and the other boards here at VJ--you'll learn everything you need to know. You should also fill in your own timeline--it helps people answer your questions if they know what stage of the process you are in and which country you are dealing with.

My fiance visited from the UK and got through no trouble; it's not technically forbidden as far as I know. But he had plenty of documentation proving that he would be returning to England in case they asked him any questions. He wasn't asked anything, they just let him right through as usual, but we wanted to be on the safe side.

There's always the possibility that you'll get turned away if the Immigration officer thinks you might be planning to overstay and get married, though. It's a bit of a calculated risk, I suppose. I'll be going there from here on out. Given the IMBRA mess, I'm not pushing my luck again! :)
