Preparation for NVC

So, my journey has started as I have mailed off my I-130 petitions for my family (Wife & 3 kids). I have been going through the guides and would like to clarify some things about the NVC process and just want to be ready

Forms to be completed?

I-169 (Not in my case?)

DS-3032, will be submitting via email - completed - just need the case numbers

DS-230, as a USC its confusing to fill this out for yourself

I-864, will need help here as I live alone, just move back to the US in November of 2008, what do I do?

Documents to have ready

Attending immigrants biographic page of passport - Done

Long birth certificates - Done

Marriage Certificate - Done

Police Certificate (only for spouse? or for the kids also)

Payments I will have to make? And at what point do these payments need to be made?

I-130: $355 x 4 = $1420- Done

NVC I-864: $70 (only one time for all 4?)

NVC Visa fee: $400 ($355+$45) x 4 = $1600

Was just looking for a confirmation. The shortcuts don't say "for each applicant to pay 70" or for each applicant ... etc.

I think you've got the $ right from what I have read - but since we don;t have kids, maybe someone else can double check. I think with the police reports it will depend on the ages of the kids.

Don't forget there will be the cost of the medicals also, which will vary.

Is the I-130 you filed for your wife include the children or is there separate ones for each child? I don't believe the kids will need police cert. (not certain ) but i believe it is for over the age of 16.

DS-230 form is information about the immigrant not the USC.

Kids are 10, 8, and 3

DS-230 - as I am the petitioner/USC I do not need to submit one for myself?

1999 - Daughter in Born in Canada

2000 - Son is Born in Canada

2005 - Daughter is Born in Canada

Are these the children you petitioned for? Have you checked to see if they have U.S. citizenship already?

Yes they are the the children I petitioned for. I am a USC by birth, moved to Canada when I was 8 and became a PR of Canada. Lived in Canada until November 2008. My kids don't get automatic US status as I have not lived in the US for a min of 2 years after my 15th Birthday.

Maybe I should add that to my sig?

Well, it depends how old you are really. It says you became a resident of Canada in 1982, but if you are 45 - that would still give you 27 years in the U.S.

I haven't read over NVC info in depth yet..

Since our I-130 packet will be forwarded to NVC, and I have already included certified copies of passports, birth certificates, etc. will i have to sumbit again per NVC required documents? It doesn't make sense that I send again something they already have in hand, but stranger things have happened so I thought I'd ask

Yes, you will have to submit the originals again regardless of what was sent to USCIS. Good luck
