Police Clearance in Thailand - urgent.

I've been staying in Thailand since April '08. We're going to mail our DS-3032 and then get the AOS and then the IV thru.

Do I need to get a Police Clearance from Bangkok Police? The NVC Shortcut guide seems to say for every place in home country at least 6 months, and for every other counry at least 1 year. But what if my 1 year in Thailand comes up during NVC processing? To what date is the PCC timed? Is it the date of filing, date of forwarding to NVC, etc.?

Also, would it be better if we go straight to this address:

Section 3, Sub-Division 2. General Staff Division

Special Branch

Royal Thai Police Department

Rama I Road

Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330

rather than going to a local police station, getting fingerprinted there and mailing it to the aboe address?

To fellow Bangkok residents: Is there a way to expedite this?

Please ignore my previous post

For Non-residents of Thailand, should send their requests to the Royal Thai Police Department at the above address with the required documents and a fingerprint taken by a police authority at their place of residence.

Foreign applicant

The applicant can send application by mail to the Police Clearance Service Center, with the following required documents:

1. A certified photocopy of Passport

2. Document(s) stating that the applicant used to work or live in Thailand

3. A certified photocopy of Thai Working Permit (if available)

4. Two Photographs (1 inch by 2 inches)

5. Three sets of fingerprints. Fingerprints can be taken at local police and they should include the official seal and signature of the official taking the fingerprint (fees applied). If the fingerprints do not contain official seal from the police, the fingerprint should be certified by the Thai Consulate. Please contact us for details.

6. A self-addressed envelope with international pre-paid stamps for the return of the Police Clearance Certificate must be included.

I think you can try to go to their office to get more information at.

Section 3, Sub-Division 2. General Staff Division

Special Branch

Royal Thai Police Department

Rama I Road

Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330

It is close to Paragon Department, you can take the sky train to Siam Station and walk to their office.

Ok, thanks a lot!

Yes, after posting, I looked around and it seems pretty simple. They speak English too. Been to Central World / Paragon area. Is this near Emporium as well?

No it is not near Emporium. It is in between Central World and Paragon but just opposit side. If you take sky trian, you get off at Siam Station and walk back to that place. They are pretty helpful there.
