Dear all :)

I have a question about DS-230 form sent by the embassy to me (beneficiary). I received the visa instructions for Fiance visa... It writes...

FIRST: Complete and return immediately to this office Form DS-230 Part I and Part II (and Part II was slashed, which means I don't have to submit Part II), Immigrant Visa Application - Biographic Data along with a copy of your passport (1st biographic page only). This office cannot process your case until they are received.

SECOND: Obtain the following documents in this checklist. Check off the box next to each document as yu obtain it. Then return to us ONLY this checklist along with completed and signed "Applicant Statement".

THIRD: ...... regarding DS-156 forms to bring on the day of appointment.

So.... my question is: Do I send only the part I of DS-230 back to the embassy first?? how do I do this? from what I found out on this site, a lot of the topics say that I have to send my DS-230 form together with all the documents (i.e. birth cert, police cert, etc...). I'm really confused.

Have anyone come across this before? Do I send in the DS-230 PART I first? Then the other documents later????

Please advice!!!!!

Thank you.

Sincerely,

LC

Ds forms are from the Embassy

moving from K-1 to:

The Foreign Embassy and Consulate General Discussion

You are almost there and now you have to deal with the embassy. This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.

YMMV

It is very clear. Send to them

1. DS-230 Part I

2. A copy of the picture and name page from your passport

3. The checklist with all items checked off and the last page signed.

You do not need to send in any of the other items on the checklist, you will bring those to the interview. Just return the checklist (checked off and signed), to acknowledge that you know and have all required items for the interview.

ok?

uhm.. but my question is.... do i send in the DS-230 Form first??? i.e. fill in the DS-230 Part I and then send it straight to them first, then only gather whatever documents they need then only send the checklist back to them? so what i gather from the visa instructions are these:

First: send in only form ds-230 (with part I filled in)

2nd: After ds-230 sent to embassy, gather whatever documents they need... then only send the documents together with checklist...

am i right?

ThaitoUSA: Uhm... from what i read of the visa instruction, it seems like i have to send the checklist 2nd? as in together with the certified copies of documents?

brnidokiegirl: did you send only the ds-230? or any other forms/checklist with it?

Thank you for your patience :)
