We had our AOS interview on 10-16-08 and the officer told us that my wife was approved. She took our EAD paper and said that the green card would be delivered within a couple of weeks. We didn't get a stamp on her passport and I've read that not everyone gets a stamp, so I am not too worried about that. I did call the USCIS customer service to inquire about her green card and I was told that they would look into it. Is it normal to take this long for a green card to be delivered? We did not move, our status has not changed online since 10-17-08, should I be worried? Has this happened to a lot of people?

You need to make an infopass appointment at your local office and find out what has happened to your Greencard as you should have had it by now.

Have you had any updates on you status on line? Do you have your name on your mailbox? you need to find out if the card has been issued and has got lost in the mail. Calling the 1-800 line is no good they are just a call center and can not see any more information than you can online.

30 days or so is the longest it should take, do and INFO-Pass appointment and ask whats up, and REQUEST an I-551 stamp they took your EAD so the I-551 stamp is the only evidence of work authorization, and legal presence.

When making an InfoPass appt what should I choose from the following?

You need Service on a case that has already been filed

You are a new Permanent Resident and have not yet received your Permanent Resident Card

You want to file an application in person

You need information or other services

You need a form.

Thanks in advanced!!

I just tried "You are a new Permanent Resident and have not yet received your Permanent Resident Card" and the response was: "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later. " Do I just need to keep trying every day? Also, when you do an InfoPass appt does it let you pick a date or do they pick it for you?

Thanks again!
