Ok i am so freaking confused... my head is about to explode  i hear different stuff from different people and i just cant take it anymore. i went to the uscis.gov website where i downloaded the I-485 application.

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

and it stated on the special instructions section that if you file form I-485 on or after july 30, 2007 no additional fee is required to also file an application for employment auhtorization on form I-765 and/or advancer parole on form I-131.

but now close friends of mines (who wouldnt lie) are telling me that for a I-485 that came from an I-129F we dont need form I-131. and that the fee is $1010 plus $340 of EAD

please advice me, my headache is getting worse

$1010.....

The fee paid for I-485 also pays for I-765, and I-131 that are sent in with the I-485. I-765 gets coded (c )(9 ) Based on ending I-485.

I-131 and I-765 are strictly optional, I-131 is filed IF you wish to get AP document allowing you to re-enter the USA from a trip abroad while AOS is pending, and I-765 is needed only if you wish to work while AOS is pending.

Your friends may not be lieing but they have their head where the sun don't shine.

For one it's a good idea to have AP [i-131] in case you have to go back home for emergencies. ALSO there's no cost filing for EAD or AP.

Your friends are giving you the wrong information.

The only time when you wouldn't need to file form I-131 to be able to re-enter the US if you leave while you're petition is being processed, is if you came in with a different type of visa, a tourist visa for example, and you had overstayed. The reason for that is because it's useless and they wouldn't let you re-enter.

But since you came in with a K1 visa and are currently Adjusting Status, you do need an AP (file form I-131) because if you have to leave the US for some reason and want to re-enter, Immigration won't let you do it unless you have the AP forms in your hands.

As others said previously, the $1,010 covers the processing of the I-485, I-131 & I-765 (EAD). You don't have to pay extra for anything else when you file.

Correct, however K-1s should NEVER do this, this type of EAD is based on the K1, and expires the same time as the K-1's I-94 card (90 days after entry), sometimes this EAD is processed and issued within the 90 days, but useless due to it expiring very shortly after it is issued. Most times this EAD cannot be approved in time so USCIS simply keeps the $340 and issues a letter of denial.
