We did this 14 years ago, I prayed we would ever have to do through this again, but here we are!

Wish us luck!

..........and remind me what happens next?

Your I-130 is approved; you send in your checklist, go to interview, voila!

Golly, you make it sound so easy, lol! I'll go back to being excited, rather than paralized with fear and worry :D

Cool. Up next, either RFE of approval of the I-130. Then, doc collection, then interview!

So, remind me again what RFE stands for?

Christmas Eve and we just got this letter:

"The Visa petition you filed has been approved....

Your petition to classify the beneficiary as an immediate relative of a United states citizen has been forwarded to the Unisted States Consulate in London...[who] will contact the beneficiary and give instructions about getting a visa."

So, sort of souless and technical, but GOOD NEWS anyway! First section of the journey complete, bring on the next part!

Got the Packet 3 checklist on Sat, Jan 03, 2009. Here we go, second leg of the (Visa) journey.

I'm ok with everything apart from the I-864. My parents have agreed to be addition support, so it should be ok, but I still worry.

God in Heaven I can't wait until this process is over and my wife (of 13 YEARS!!) is allowed to be with me.

Governments shouldn't put their citizens through this process, dividing lives and separating families. For what?

Anyway, rant over, work to begin.

My wife just went through her medical with Knightsbridge Doctors in London yesterday

She said that it all went great, everyone was extremely friendly and professional, she needed only two extra immunization shots and the doctor was the only one who drew blood from their first jab, without turning my wifes arm into a dartboard.

So, one more hurdle done. Our Police thingy was sent away last week, hopefully that will come back to us soon.

And I will be lining up some extra support for the I-864 in the next two weeks, so we should have our checklist ready to send off to the US Embassy by then end of Feb.

Lord willing and the creek don't rise....

Ok, here is the update.

In April, I moved back to the US alone, my wife and two children are back in the UK.

I'm currently renting a room and looking for a job. When I get the job, I'll rent a house for when wife and kids finally come. That should be July or August.

I didn't pick a great time to do this whole moving/job searching thing, but what can you do, eh?

I've finally got a co-sponsor for my I-864, so I'll be sending that out tomorrow

And my wife has her interview at the London Embassy on May 15th!! Woo Hoo

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone in the VisaJourney.com community, I doubt I could have done this without your help!

Wish us luck on the 15th, and I'll let everyone know the outcome when I know it

Cheers!
