All right people..I haven't been posting something on here in ages though I've been reading forums and kept myself posted from the most relevant to mundane but still noteworthy topics.

First, for the knowledge of the wonderful people I've known and befriended here, come November 2 will be my 5th month in treatment!! Wooohooo!!! (yep! despite all it's worth the jubilation) Everything has been going smoothly (THANK GOD!). More than a month to go and counting down. Chronicles of my (tragic) TB treatment experience will be posted here when I'll have it completed, for the benefit of those who maybe are interested; something that I promised myself as I have been in the position where I had NO IDEA of what I am going through now... Well, back to my untimely posting..;)

I have been classified as having a Class A TB, I've read on USCIS website:

TB testing requirement from USCIS: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=1758d5b07655b110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD&vgnextchannel=da3eaca797e63110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD (Thanks FromJapan)

"Some of the major changes to the TB requirements include:

* Applicants with Class A tuberculosis must complete a full course of TB treatment before receiving medical clearance by USCIS for adjustment of status.

"

I know it's too early for me to be wondering about this but I just can't push this topic off my head. Considering that these are (another) new changes and I'm just hoping that anyone would give me a piece of their mind regarding these new requirements. Do you think after I'm done with the treatment here (cured and all) I will still be going through another TB treatment when I'm in the US for my AOS? or the proof of completed treatment here in the Philippines (as per USEmbassy requirement) will be enough considering that it's still USCIS and CDC regulated.

I know I can well enough answer these... But these another recent CRAZY/PARANOID (no pun intended) requirements that are being imposed and I feel like I'm wandering in the dark (AGAIN!).

You're thoughts will be GREATLY appreciated :thumbs:

This is my opinion, for your consideration...

If you followed the medication religiously, then you dont have to worry another round of test. A relapse of TB is worst than before. The second test would confirm that you are totally cure. Its better that you know your status immediately for you to finalize your next course of action.

Hang on there...Few more weeks...

I am now in a treatment for having TB skin test positive but chest X-ray clear and negative.

The nurse told me that I need to undergo treatment for 9 months. To kill the bacteria whatever that is... I have to,anyway it's for free!

Be sure to have full documentation that you had the treatment before coming to the US. In that way, you have proof to show. Eventually, as we go through with the job applications here in the US,employers might ask for a skin test at least you already have papers ready. That is my reason why I went through with the test and treatment,( though the CS didn't required me )I am afraid it might be a cause for a delay on my application for job in the future.

Hang in there...you are about to end and I am still starting the treatment.

Hi Vida, just out of curiosity, are you a nurse? i'm asking bec. you were talking about "employers might ask for a skin test..." and why would you go through 9 months of treatment when you can just do away with the skin test since it was not required anyway? again, if you are a nurse, and will be working as a nurse here in the US, that would make sense.

You got it right! The US government are very (and more) particular with medical practitioners or any work related to the field of medicine. In the Philippines, those who are/were (medical practitioners) will have to take sputum test even if their chest x-rays and skin tests were negative...

Tough love huh?!
