WASHINGTON - A plot by two Neo-Nazi skinheads to assassinate Barack Obama and kill dozens of other African Americans has been foiled, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms said Monday.

Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tenn., and Paul Schlesselman, 18, of West Helena, Ark., were charged Friday with making threats against a presidential candidate, illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun and conspiracy to rob a gun store.

In court records unsealed Monday, agents said they disrupted plans that included robbing a gun store and targeting an unnamed but predominantly African-American high school.

The two men were arrested in Crockett County, Tenn., and have already made a court appearance.

The plot unraveled when one of the men was arrested on other charges and in the course of interviews he revealed plans for the plot.

According to the court records, the pair discussed robbing a gun shop in order to gather weapons and ammunition to use in a "killing spree."

The defendants allegedly further discussed their killing spree to include targeting a predominately African-American school, and to continue their spree until it culminated with an attempt to assassinate Obama.

I imagine we can't blame racism for this one either... we wouldn't want to hurt any sentiments out there.

I can only imagine what else other people may be planning to do. I can smell something cooking, just have to wait and see what will follow. Main thing is history tends to repeat itself. Obama can't be afraid, if it were not for people who would stand up for themselves and try to create change blacks-in America would still be sitting at the back of the bus and drinking from different water fountains, etc. So, blacks and all minorities and all people in general should stand up for what they believe in. Obama may get hurt in the process, sad enough but somebody has to make way for minorities in the future years to come. I do not see why people think only whites are suitable to be the president. If you want a full, red-blooded American to be president, then go get us good ole' Native American candidate. People always try to express their views with hatred. This is unethical, immature, and inhumane. Racism is not the answer to eliminating things we dislike. Racism only divides the human race, we are all humans here and there is no need to base our hatred upon skin color. What I don't get is: why are the targeting out blacks because as many whites are Pro-Obama as blacks. So, why are they only singling out the blacks? This is outargeous! God help all of us!

You cannot expect the police to go through the legal process to get permission to have a computer tap every single suspicious person. We are talking about 300,000,000 people here.

The law enforcement authorities have a hard enough job as it is.

I can foresee one of two basic scenarios if he gets elected..

Some fool/s will either try to assassinate him or they will pull another Timothy McVeigh. Hence the need for the Patriot act and other new modern law enforcement measures. The presidents life is more important than a government computer scanning my porn collection.

Right. We should do away with warrant requirements for searches as well, with all the millions of American homes, no telling what people might be up to inside them. And any American homeowner who b!tches about their home being raided by the police should just remember that their job is hard enough as it is...give them a break.

Someone needs to do a thesis on left wing paranoia. Whereas I prefer the government have 'adequate' power to do their job; Rather than the status quo where the ball is in the criminals court and authorities are always, and pointlessly, playing cat and mouse games with criminals and organized crime.

Obviously you are not interested in protecting your family or others. Unfortunately in the real world we need more than amendments to do this.

If Aficionado knew anything, he'd know it's not the FBI who would look into those tapped lines, it's the NSA, as per their room on the AT&T trunks, namely one in San Francisco. He always finds a way to own himself.
