Propaganda 101: You’re a racist and you didn’t even know it!

Of late, liberal commentators, surrogates and media stenographers of Axlerod have been racheting up the cry of racism to explain Obama's failure to gain substantial lead in recent polls. It may well be that they are drumming up the chant of racism to make those who don't support Obama/Biden feel guilty of er....racism?

What one can easily surmise from this is that there is orchestration in this sudden surge or uptick of articles and a chorus of comments from surrogates crying racism..

You judge for yourself folks.

All I have to say is that for those who might be using racism to serve their ends, they are indeed playing with fire.

The Democrats should take heed.

If the party lets the bigots determine the outcome of the election, it will likely lose black support for decades to come.

Obama Can't Escape Race Questions - Mary Mitchell, Chicago Sun-Times

Earlier in Dennis Prager's article that Dev posted he quoted several :

That is why the growing chorus -- already nearing unanimity -- of liberal commentators and politicians ascribing an Obama loss to American racism is so dangerous.

Andrew Sullivan of The Atlantic: "White racism means that Obama needs more than a small but clear lead to win."

Jack Cafferty of CNN: "The polls remain close. Doesn't make sense ... unless it's race."

Jacob Weisberg of Newsweek and Slate: "The reason Obama isn't ahead right now is ... the color of his skin. ... If Obama loses, our children will grow up thinking of equal opportunity as a myth."

Nicholas D. Kristof of New York Times: "Religious prejudice (against Obama) is becoming a proxy for racial prejudice."

Gerald W. McEntee, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, in a speech to union workers: "Are you going to give up your house and your job and your children's futures because he's black?"

Similar comments have been made by Kansas's Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, a Democrat, and by writers in Time magazine. And according to The Associated Press: "A poll conducted by The Associated Press and Yahoo News, in conjunction with Stanford University, revealed that a fairly significant percentage of Democrats and independents may not vote for Sen. Barack Obama because of his race." If you read the poll, it does not in fact suggest this conclusion. The pollsters assert that any person with any negative view of black life means that the person is racist and means that he would not vote for Obama. Both conclusions are unwarranted. But "Obama will lose because of racism" is how the poll takers and the media spin it.

Then again, look today's aggregate of political articles in RealPolitics..

How to use propaganda 101: take poll data, manipulate the facts while leaving others out. Allude to memes of racism already out in the collective consciousness. Throw in other unrelated polls and comparisons, and… voila! Obama will lose because white women are racist. For example, take this Politico analysis of the poll numbers of a recent Lifetime poll of women (with some totally unrelated Gallup numbers in the mix, just to confuse readers even more):

Very old news. It was said long ago he would lose many Democratic votes because of his race and nowhere to go to replace them. The Reps will not jump to the Socialists because they only vote for conservatives. Also said from the outset that when he loses he and all blacks would say it was because he is black.

There are very few people who would cry racism if Obama was not elected. Probably the same that would suggest people who don't vote for the McCain/Palin ticket is because Palin is a woman.

These sources you gave are pundits on the extreme end, much akin to the Bill O'Reilly's, and need to be ignored like O'Reilly. Instead, because of their sensationalism, they are given credence and of course used as some retarded method of leverage in political debates as they provide an easy target to discredit. In reality, it's called "straw man".

Liberals love their guilt and try to spread it around.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

I think you are wrong here. There are already many talking about how if Obama doesn't win, it will be because of racism. I think it's all we are going to hear.

We have to active PUMA members here on VJ, working vigilantly to prepare Hillary for 2012. That's their plan anyway.

Yes, we did and the same nutjobs will spout the same nonsense led by the same stupid pundits that should know better but need to make a buck selling their journalistic drivel. There really is more to this election than the fact that one of the candidates had a black, Kenyan father.

And Jabber doesn't help with his 'Clinton' consperacy theories either.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Slap together a few disparate headlines and suddenly you have a sensationalist scare story.

Seriously - we all know the quality of the news media is generally mediocre. Doesn't anyone get tired of this rubbish?

When two self professed Democrats post hit pieces on Obama from Right Wing blog sites, that's not a theory, that's reality. PUMA exists...just visit their website and read the blog entries. Members brag about doing just what these two have been doing here. That's fine...to each their own. We've had NumbersUSA members post anti-immigration propaganda here as well. I'm just calling a duck a duck.
