So is there a new form that I (U.S. Citizen) have to provide with my I-129f petition for the IMBRA thing? Or is it something that is slowing down background checks? Please explain.

They just finished a 60 day Notice of Review for a new I-129F. Expect a new form in the next 30 to 60 days..

There are probably numerous sources. One is the index of links to immigration-related items published in the Federal Register that can be found on the USCIS web site.

The item requesting comment on I-129f was published 28 February, the 60-day comment period ended 1 May.

I see, I don´t know enough US law to understand these. So we´re indeed expecting RFEs for everyone, and nothing will happen until they put that new form out there? How irresponsible can they be?!?!?! The only affected petitions should have been those that didn´t use the new form once it was out there! I mean, it´s not our fault at all that they didn´t make the new form in time!

I just got off the phone with my Congressperson's office, who just got off the phone with Vermont before she called me.

They are going to be requesting additional information from petitioners

They have no clue how they are going to do this yet, because they need that information from Washington headquarters.

The impression the liasion got from the VSC people is that the guidance is not going to be forthcoming in a matter of days, but instead weeks.

THe normally put out a new form immediately after the public comment period has ended. FOr instance they public comment period for the new I-485 started on January 23, 2006, ended on March 25, 2006 and a new I-485 was out on April 1, 2006.

Things might be delayed due to them adding things to the Form due to the IMBRA...

It's not their fault.. the IMBRA went down in January with it going into effect in March. Not much time to get things in motion. Blame Congress for making the effective date so fast...

Well, so we have our answer. Vermont is not sending anything to petitioners yet, since they are still waiting for instructions from Washington.

I think the question now is: WHO SHOULD WE CALL IN WASHINGTON???

George Bush gleefully signed the bill and our Representative and Senators wrote the phraquin' thing.

It was a part slipped into another bill if I've understood what I've seen.

Another sneaky elected official screw job.

It´s their fault.. they know that.

But they don´t care. People are gonna lose plane tickets and if I recall correctly, the petitions are valid for 4 months.

If they don´t sort this out soon thwy will expire and we can expect even more delays.

I´m getting headaches from this. So nothing is gonna happen till weeks from now ´cus the we need to wait orders from headquarters in Washington. This is unbeliavable!
