assembling the documents

I know that this topic has been covered more than once, but I have a small related question. I know that when we assemble the I-129F package we should punch two holes in each document and use ACCO-type fasteners. Also I see that we should not use binders or folders and if you use tabs place them at the bottom of the pages. What I was wondering was which documents do you fasten together. Do we make one big pile that is fastened together or a "Petitioner" pile and a "Beneficiary" pile? I know this seems like a little thing, but I just don't want to ruffle anyone's feathers, if you know what mean?

Stack them in the order they are mentioned in your cover letter and then use anything you want to hold them together until they arrive. I like binder clips because I have them handy. The ACCO fasters for two-hole top punched papers are fine too. That's how they'll end up. It's all one file and they'll assemble it the way they want it when they get it.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

it doesn't really matter. You can use a rubber band to hold it all together if you want. ;) They will put into a standard container once there anyway. As long as they can sort through your info easily.

You can use a folder or binder if you want. My fastners were part of a folder.

I separted ours based on info... forms, documents such as birth certificate..etc... then pictures, passport stamps...followed by supporting itinerary..boarding passes...etc...etc.

Here's a photo

Ours was 60+ pages long (10 years) so that's why so many tabs. ;)

Thanks for all the great info!! It has been incredibly helpful to me. And Thanks to this website and its members who seem to go out of their way to assist anyone with the simplest of questions.

Kim thanks so much for the sample photo! I have a question about the tabs. Did you fasten them to the individual documents or to a divder page or what?

I did fasten most to the documents themselves but the 'sticky part' was very minimal. I bought them (tabs) in a bag at staples. ;)

For the copy packet I just sent to Russell I just used post it notes to separate everything as I'd like to keep it all for a scrapbook later. :)

As pushbrk stated, you can simply clasp it all together and send it off. I just really liked the organization of it and thought an adjuticator would appreciate that too.

good luck
