oddity with online IV payment

 Share

Recommended Posts

after paying the IV fee online yesterday this morning the status was "paid" and the amount was deducted from my account today

now when I go the NVC website, it doesn't list the IV as paid: however, the receipt for the paid one is still available with links to the barcode cover page etc...

has anyone else noticed this type of odd behavior?

timeline

July 14: I-130 and I29F approved

July 26: NVC acknowledges receipt of both I-130 and I-129F

July 28: DS-3032 and AOS fee bill generated (although dated 2 days earlier when I received the snail mail)

July 29: mailed off $70 AOS fee

July 29: email DS-3032 (snail mail got there first!)

July 30: spouse mailed off DS-3032 by express mail (UPS) from Philippines

August 4: DS-3032 hard copy received from Philippines

August 4: AOS fee bill received by NVC (although wrong date was on James' short cut generated bill!)

August 6: AOS generated

August 6: IV bill generated

August 6: send off AOS (I-864EZ) lets hope they accept a non-notarized version with IRS tax transcripts for last 3 years rather than actual tax returns! (there's not even any space to notarize an I-864EZ, so it makes no sense to me)

August 6: paid IV bill online with invoice # obtained from NVC operator (who also told me the online system doesn't work, so I'll just have to see what happens)

August 7: IV bill status is now "paid" and deducted from my bank account

August 7: mail off DS-230 + pile of documents

it's silly that the online system is available when they don't want us to use it. what's that all about? are they just testing us by tempting us with forbidden fruit or something?

even though the status changed back to unpaid, I can still access the receipt for the $400 I did pay yesterday (strangely enough) and can still also access the bar code page: it's only when I first log in that it states unpaid!

today when I mailed in the DS-230, I also included a copy of the receipt as well as a print out of my bank statement showing the $400 deducted

to me it seemed to make sense that the NVC website was giving us instructions for sending the DS-230 (otherwise what would be the point of printing the barcode page? just for amusement?) so that's exactly what I did.... I printed it and mailed it with the DS-230 + other docs...

if they think I sent it too early they can always mail it back to me and ask me to resend it!!!

the AVR still only mentions having received the DS-3032

yesterday I sent the AOS, although it wasn't clear that had been generated either.... but I certainly had paid

ya im with yoke, but i paid too early (before the bill was generated) but everything looks ok now. I will be calling tomorrow night if the AVR doesn't change

ya sounds like you did it too early too. but like you, i printed off all the documents just in case something didn't work. id call and make sure yours is linked up. i think yoke called and they said they didn't get it yet, but sounds like now they sorted it out? im not sure. same with mine, im calling to make sure. another VJer, badpellor, paid twice and had to get NVC to send 400 back. if they didn't want us using the link, they shouldn't have it working. hope everything goes smooth though for everyone lol

I called tonight and asked for an update. She is like we generated blah blah blah, if you don't receive by Sept 1 call us back.....I then asked for "invoice identification number"...she was like sure...and gave it to me. Then she followed with "you can pay the fees online". So I guess they are now saying it's ok.

It depends on which operator you speak to. Some advice you to pay online, others reprimand you for doing it!

They've received my IV now but I had to tell them a second time that I already paid online!!!! (they seem to have problems reconciling the online payment with the submitted IV which they think is not paid!)
