To all Filipinas who got married in the US, did you give giveaways to your guests? If you did, what did you give? How popular are wedding giveaways there? And to those who are still yet to get married in the US, do you plan to give wedding favors?

I had been planning to purchase native stuffs for this occasion but I don't think I still have enough time to do this. Gusto ko sana i-personalize ang giveaways kaya I wanted to make them myself. Ok lang ba kung madami-dami native stuffs dalhin ko?

hi ate riza,

in our case, civil marriage lang kasi ang sa amin so simple wedding lang. yung souvenir namin is a pair of swan (made of glass) kissing with each other then may mga pink ribbons and designs. binili na namin yun ng ready made although masgusto ko rin ng gaya mo na personalized souvenir ang bigay namin kaya lang wala kami time kaya no choice.

in regards in your case na gusto mo siyang i-ship or dalhin sa US, ang iniisip ko lang ay baka kasi maquestion yan ng custom dahil sa dami ng volume na i-shiship mo. baka isipin nila ay gagawin mong business iyon at hanapan kapa ng business permit at kung ano ano pang papers. i think better ask mo muna if your allowed to ship that kind of volume before na bumili ka para hindi sayang.

yung husband ko and father-in-law ko kasi ay mahilig dn sa native crafts kaya paguuwi husband ko, isang maleta n puno ng native ang dala nya. nagask kami muna if allowed yun, ang sabi pwede naman daw kasi tig-iisa lng ang volume at for personal use lang. i really think u better ask na lang po kung type mo magdala ng ganun :)

Best Wishes on your upcoming wedding! :star:

i had a simple church wedding ...mga 20 people lang ang present. I gave away napkin holder na made of coconut shell..(bought from quiapo). I was planning to give away a native keychain with "PHILIPPINES" in it, placed in a nito or buri cutie bags pero i didnt had enough time back in pinas to look for the keychains that i like.

Good luck on ur wedding and im sure whatever wedding favors u can think of, ur guests will love it :)

Riza bringing more than 12pcs in every item is not allowed anymore.what i can suggest you is to make label for it whom you are going to give them...just a tentative name so that they will think that those are not for business use. Hope this idea will help u Riza!!!!

I just shipped our wedding invitations just this month and it made it there for just 15 days,I sent 60 pieces wedding invitations along with my wedding dress and no questions at all with customs,it got there safe and still intacked. You just have to declare the stuff you are sending and thats it,I use our local postal service here and according to them, items that are not allowed to ship are those sharp pointing objects and wiring stuff,so go on if your planning to buy some stuff here for your wedding..

And what I did with our invitations was,I made it a two in one style meaning it is a souvenir at the same time, less expense and very unique...Best wishes

I brought 30 pieces of this cute native basket made in Cebu City for our wedding giveaways where inside were wooden toys ( planes, cars, tractors etc ) we bought from Dollar Tree and labeled them with our name and wedding date. It was a hit. Since it was made of native materials, they easily fit in one of my luggages. My wedding invitations were also made of the same material.

Heres how it looks like . Goodluck

Thank you everyone for your replies. I really appreciate it. I don't think I will have a problem with the weight because native stuffs are very light. Besides Ryan will be with me during the travel so, we would be able to bring things that weight twice from one person traveling. My concern is just the customs since these are native stuffs. So, labeling it with names will help?

P.S. Nice giveaways sis... too bad, we didn't have it when we got married. We didn't have enough time to work on it even when I was still in Pinas. Oh well... what matters most is I am now his Mrs., right? :luv:
