Here is the "Packet 3" that is sent out by the embassy. Unfortunately I only received the Spanish language version.

I thought the packet 3 was only for K-3 interviews? We never received anything like that and we have already turned in every document to the NVC.

Yes, we never received it either, but the embassy said "they sent it." Yea, RIGHT!!!

This is the only place that states the RENIEC endorsement is required on the marriage certificate. So whether "Packet 3" is used for K-1, K-3, CR-1, or IR-1, I thought it would be good info to share, after what we went through this week. Besides, what is another 30+ soles after everything else. It is worth having, to avoid the hassle.

I don't think you need to request this "Packet 3". It was the Consular Officer who said we needed the RENIEC endorsement and I think he was confused because we are an IR-1, not a K-3. He has lumped everyone into the same classification. His mistake!!! We never received this packet, and our appointment was set by the NVC, not the embassy, so why would they send it to us.

I would however get the RENIEC endorsement to avoid any delays. Just in case they are changing their policies.

Hey guys i have a question i hope someone answer it... DO I HAVE TO PAY $400 in the interview for when my fiancee receives her visa? cuz i read a line that said:

"El costo total por una visa de inmigrante es de 400 dólares por persona. Cada uno de los solicitantes

deberá pagar este costo en la fecha de la cita." so this mean that i gotta pay that when she's granted the visa OR this was already paid when i filed the K1 and i sent my check for $455?
