Much to my amazement I was approved at interview only two and a half months from receiving the AOS receipt notice!!!!!

We had our interview last week and this is what happened:

Arrived at office half an hour before interview - placed my appointment letter in tray and sat down to wait.

We were called bang on time and taken through to interview room.

Officer was a polite gentleman - not over friendly but not intimidating.

We gave him our ID and after we took the oath we were asked the following:

To me: the standard questions about not being affiliated with communist organisations, not receiving public aid etc etc etc (as on page 3 of form I485)

Then:

How did you meet?

My date of birth?

Husband's date of birth?

Address?

Tell me about your father & mother in law (to each of us)

Tell me about your spouse (to each of us)

How many people were at your wedding?

Documents that were asked for:

My husband's most recent tax return - as I filed for AOS before April 15th they had only got husband's 2004, 2005 and 2006 tax returns so remember to bring the latest tax return available.

I also gave him my original birth certificate and marriage certificate plus copies - he kept the copies.

I also showed him original wedding photos and gave him copies - PHOTOS ARE IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!

I also provided joint checking account statements, joint insurance documents and a copy of the title document for our house.

I had a copy of DS3025 but this was not requested, nor was I693 form - I assume they already had my medical report from my KI and the accompanying DS3025 on file. As my application for AOS and the interview were within one year of my K1 medical I'm assuming that the I693 was not required.

Finally he took my very recently issued EAD, AP and I94, told me I was approved and said I should receive the green card within 2-6 weeks! :)

The whole interview took less than 10 minutes!!!!!

I think he appreciated the fact that I had originals and good copies for everything and was well organised.

Hope this helps any other VJ'ers with upcoming interviews.
