It is written that Satan himself appears as an angel of light.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

My question: What would be the reaction if the flyers were for McCain instead of Obama?

I bet McCain would be called a fundamentalist. Am I wrong?

I don't like them either way. I'd rather see no candidate bow to a religious segment. I don't care that he sits in church or does God's work. It's unappealing no matter who does it.

I think it can be unappealing to me when they use it for their own needs. Like, well these people like religious folks so I better act more religious in their state to get more votes, and this state is a lot more secular so I need to distance myself from talking about it in this state, etc. I won't blame one side more than the other because I know they both do it. I think they should be the real person they are, whether it's religious or not, no matter where they are. But I am asking too much of the politicians. B)

Anyone who has done marketing, or creating any content to be viewed or consumed by an audience, knows that you cater your content to your audience. If you don't know your audience, your message will get lost.

If an audience is religious, talk to them on that level. If they are not, don't bring up religion. Thats just smart.

Well, fundamentalist implies that he's posturing one way over another... show us where in that flyer it directs the reader to conclude fundamentalist and perhaps we can equate your foregone assumption of McCain with Obama.

The wording was pretty clear and I've seen Obama's interviews where he openly states he is a God-fearing man.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I propose a new rule:

AJ aka VJ Troll is not allowed to post controversial articles or topics unless he posts his own opinion within 5 posts. :D

I can just see him sitting back waiting to see what's going to happen in these threads. He'll pick topics he knows will ruffle some feathers or stir the pot ( which I know is old news haha). It brings some good discussions but the rule above is a good idea IMO. :innocent: You HAVE to say your opinion if you want others to.

I think it better to ask our politicians to actually act (religiously) along the lines they say they pray to.

Me likes. I think this should be an unwritten rule for all to follow.

I know he is a Christian. But I am saying that because it seems sometimes if it's a Republican who talks about God or his Christianity he is labeled a fundamentalist. Sometimes for no good reason besides him talking about it.

I hear ya. I think what we need to focus on more are those that spend so much of their political campaigning talking about it and then turning around and being more traitorous than Judas to the very faith they proselytize.
