Maureen Sinclair stared out at the calm blue waves washing up on the shore, as she burrowed her slender feet deeper into the cool sand. She often wondered how far she could manage to swim before the deep blue waters or the creatures that called the sea home consumed her. Maureen imagined that her fate couldn’t be far worse than the one she faced daily, even if she had never swam a day in her life.

As a small girl, Maureen had shared dreams of becoming a nurse, school teacher or her wildest fantasy of becoming a model with her childhood friends. They had gasped and sighed collectively at the thought of having more money than they could possibly fathom. At the time, a meager $1000 US seemed like the answer to all of their prayers. The girls would verbalize every minute detail of their cars, homes, clothing, hair and husbands. Of course, their husbands changed as frequently as their latest crushes.

Now, at the tender age of 22, Maureen felt older than her years – older than her peers and even older than her dearly departed grandma. She yearned for the days of her naiveté and youthful fantasies. Maureen had far surpassed her and friends’ goal of $1000 US on her first good night as a go-go dancer in New Kingston two years ago to the day. She recalled how excited she was when she counted her riches for the night, $3000 US. Maureen remembered calling her best friend, Natalie, breathlessly exclaiming how all of their troubles were over.

Maureen replied angrily, “Low mi! Whaa mek yuh de master hof mi destiny? Mi nuh bloodclat skettel ######! Mi whine hup mi batty fe likkle food and ting, and yuh whine hup yuh batty fe free. Dat mek yuh de rass eediat inna mi hovastanding. Hennyway, mi nuh skin hout yet! Natalie, mi gyal…mi neva tell yuh ow much mi mek inna WAN NITE STAR! Mi count $1000 US, and mi still count till mi reach $3000 US. Mi pay Missa Ray $500, so mi get $2500 US.”

“2500 US dollars! Ah lie! Eh-eh! Walk through mi gyal! Yuh rememba when we sey $1000 US tek care of we fe life? Wooooiiiieeee! Yuh sure yuh nuh skin hout fe dat kind of money? Yuh sit pon de cocky? Whaa? Yuh nuh whine pon de buddy? Lawd! Mi belly!”, Natalie laughed into her small cell phone. “Alright…alright. Mi will meet yuh at de cook shop tomorrow. Lata.”

Maureen laughed along with her best friend, knowing that any harsh words exchanged between the two were merely in jest and had no bad-minded intentions. She flipped her cell phone closed and tucked it neatly into her wristlet.

Maureen closed her eyes briefly, smiled contently and gazed into the jagged dressing room mirror. She inspected her features and slender body, slick with sweat and baby oil. Maureen had been blessed with exotic good looks, and the slender frame of her handsome father. The light, greenish-brown hue of her doe-like eyes contrasted sharply against her dark mahogany skin tone. She had the muscular legs of a dancer, which seemed to go on forever, although she topped off at a mere 5 feet, 5 inches. Maureen always thought that her small nose reminded her of Halle Berry’s petite nose. Her mouth was lush, full and pouty. If there were any two features she could change, Maureen secretly wished her silky-straight, waist-length tresses were her own, and that her lips were not as full. Maureen raked slim fingers through her hair, and timidly cupped her full breasts. The heaviness of her firm breasts never ceased to amaze her. They had the weight and fullness of a new mother nursing twins, but still managed to defy gravity with their perkiness. She ran her hands slowly down her practically non-existent waistline, to the widest part of her body. Her seductively rounded hips helped to eliminate the pubescent boyish look of her White counterparts in most fashion magazines. Maureen always became sexually excited looking at her own body, and that night was no exception.

Her phone chirped inside her dainty purse, and she sighed knowingly before retrieving it. “Hello?”

“Whaa gwaan babes? Whaa yuh deal wid?”, the male voice responded.

Maureen stifled a premature yawn, and replied, “Mi dere yere ah wuk babes. Yuh know sey mi stawt mi new job tonight. Mi tired tuh rass. Dem mek mi hearn mi money tonight baby. Mi need a good rub dung.”

“Yuh coming ova tonight, or yuh wan mi fe come tuh mommies?”, he asked.

She murmured seductively, “Pree baby, you know that you can’t come over to mommies. I’m sorry. I’m not in the mood for a war tonight. Royce is starting to feel a way about you always being around. I just need some good loving. I’m hot Pree. Mi cyaan manage heenyting but yuh stiff cocky.”

Pree chuckled cockily, “Mek mi come in like Mista Joe Grind. Royce vex cuz im cyaan manage yuh sweet pums. Im neva knoa yuh bored wid im rooks? Mi have de wuk and de buddy yuh need. Mi ago mek yuh beg fe de hood tonight star. Stawt bawl and beg now!”

Maureen hesitated slightly, glanced around the crowded dressing room and tried to weigh her options. She knew that if she didn’t play along with Pree, he would literally force her to beg all night. Her conscience screamed at her to hang up the phone, and go home to Royce. But, Maureen was equally hardheaded and horny. So, she lustfully played along, ignoring the sidelong glances of her female co-workers.

~Chapter 2~

Paul “Pree” Denton knew the effect he had on women, and had no problem doing whatever it took to bed as many of them as he could. Although, he was wickedly handsome, he relied solely on his ability to gain a woman’s trust as his MO. He snuck in quietly, and expertly intertwined himself in their lives so completely that they rarely managed to separate from him without losing parts of themselves.

Pree was taller than the average Jamaican male, towering over most at 6 feet 7 inches tall. His face was ruggedly handsome, with heavy lashes and thick brows framing dark brown eyes. His long sharp nose and thin lips betrayed his otherwise hidden European heritage.

Pree was a lover of many, but friend to none. Once he set his eyes on a target, he didn’t care if she belonged to his best friend or his own father. Pree thought it odd and mildly funny that he had the same effect on his best friend that he had on his many women. His best friend, Royce, had been his friend since primary school. They had been through numerous challenges and enough fights to last an eternity. Royce had lost many women to Pree, only to have Pree walk away from them after the hunt was over.

Royce managed to keep Maureen away from Pree for about six months, before he got careless. He had been stuck at work doing unplanned overtime, and Maureen needed a ride from school. Pree offered to pick her up, promising to be on his best behavior. Royce foolishly believed that Maureen would not become a victim of Pree’s charms because she claimed Royce as her first love. It also didn’t hurt that Maureen’s best friend, Natalie, would be with her.

Pree smiled and licked his soft lips at the memory of meeting Maureen and Natalie for the first time. The girls were only 18 years old, whereas he and Royce were 26 and 25 respectively. Pree climbed out of his “borrowed” sports car, and rested confidently against it, waiting for the girls to recognize him as their ride home. Royce had described both women when he told Pree what school they attended. Pree silently appraised each girl, and vowed to leave Maureen alone.

Natalie had detested him immediately, and had no qualms expressing it. Her rejection bruised his ego only slightly because he knew he had the uncanny gift to win people over. It was only a matter of time before she would be totally smitten with him. He was a patient man. However, his best laid plans went out of the window when Maureen locked eyes with him, and smiled demurely.

Pree pretended to be extremely attracted to Natalie, and used it as a way to befriend Maureen. Maureen was gullible and childishly trusting. She was excited at the prospect of “double dates with her best friend and her man’s best friend.” Natalie on the other hand, read him like a transparent set of dominoes. It was six-love before he even started.

“Alright babes…soon come.”

Pree hung up the phone just as a curvy Jamaican-Indian woman entered the room. The woman smiled lovingly at him before she climbed on top of his semi-nude form reclining on the bed. Pree ran his large palms appreciatively over her luscious curves, and smiled back at her.

“Ryla, mi have fe touch de road fe a likkle while. Mi soon reach back. Mek mi tek de truck, and mi come pick yuh hup fe breakfast and tek yuh tuh wuk.” he cooed.

Ryla’s smile slowly disappeared, and her eyes searched his intently for any signs of untruth. Unsure of her findings, she leaned down to kiss her man, and hopefully persuade him to stay with her. Pree reached up and smoothed Ryla’s silky black ringlets behind her ears. He kissed her passionately, licked a warm trail from the base of her neck to her jaw line, before grabbing both sides of her face in his hands. Pree stared into her ebony eyes, silently willing her to trust him.

“Paul, I love you. Why do you have to leave me alone again? Why am I never enough for you? I can’t do this anymore. I can’t. I won’t. If you leave tonight, you will leave without my car. If you leave, don’t bother to come back.” Ryla voiced breathlessly.

Pree could tell that she was afraid of her own ultimatum. He knew that she silently hoped that he would not challenge her on her empty threat. Pree thumbed her nipple lazily, and whispered “Nuh chat phockery Ryla. Yuh knoa yuh nuh mean dat. I man have business pon de road, and mi cyaan stay. Mi plan fe make love tuh yuh hall night…but tings nuh go so, yuhseemi. Please nuh mash hup de vibes ah gwaan yereso. I man wan fe mek love nuh war.”

Ryla slumped against him as he reached around and pulled her into him. They kissed passionately while he quickly unwrapped a XXL Magnum condom, and skillfully covered his manhood.

Later, Pree strolled confidently to Ryla’s truck. Her father had recently purchased a Mercedes SUV for his beloved only daughter. Ryla followed Pree out to park his car in the space he had just vacated in the garage. He waited until she reluctantly re-entered her home before reaching for his cell phone.

“I don’t know why you keep trying to reach Maureen Nat.” Tony declared to her, “I know that she has been your best friend since grade school, but she is out there, and I don’t want you caught up in her drama.”

“Tony please. You are not being fair. ‘Reen is really not that bad. I mean she has made some difficult decisions in her life. I agree that she chases that dollar way too much. But, she is a good friend to me. I can’t just walk away from her.” Natalie snuggled closer to her boyfriend of one year, and pressed her ### into his crotch to maintain their joined singularity. “You know I love you right?”

“I love you too Nat. You are my princess, my queen, and my wifey. What are you going to do when I take you home with me?” Tony asked against her ear. He groaned from the superb feelings Natalie always managed to evoke within him. It seemed to him that her ### always found a way to whine and percolate on his #######. He loved it, and it was one of the reasons he found himself back in Jamaica six times since meeting her.

Natalie whined her waist covertly to give her man a hint of the action he always craved with her. She thought about his question, and wondered if she would truly be happy in Miami USA. She knew that it would mean that she would leave behind everything she ever knew, her family, her friends, Jamaica, home. Tony would be all she had and knew in the States. “Would his love for me be enough?”, she thought.
