Few days back, i posted about the packets for immigrant and "k" visa applicants but I am sorry that I posted the old outdated packets . The USEM website have two pages with conflicting packets, one outdated (Feb. 2007) which still contains the old fees and everything old info and then there is the recently updated packets for download (updated March 26). USEM probably need new IT workers.

Here is the link to the packets with updated information (March 2008): http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023.html

Immigrant and "K" Visa Applicant Appointment Package/Instructions

If you have been scheduled for an interview, you may print and download the appropriate instructions and forms by clicking on the links below:

Fiance(e) (K1/K2) Visa Applicants' Interview Preparation Instructions (English)

Fiance(e) (K1/K2) Visa Applicants' Interview Preparation Instructions (Tagalog)

Spouse (K3/K4) Visa Applicants' Interview Preparation Instructions (English)

Spouse (K3/K4) Visa Applicants' Interview Preparation Instructions (Tagalog)

Immigrant (IR, F & E) Visa Applicants' Interview Preparation Instructions (English)

Immigrant (IR, F & E) Visa Applicants' Interview Preparation Instructions (Tagalog)

Missing Your Appointment

If you missed your scheduled appointment, please contact us by fax or by e-mail or by mail or telephone to reschedule your appointment.

There are still others who have received text from DHL regarding documents from USEM (possible packet 4 delivery) but we were told by the visa information agent that we talked to that they NO LONGER send packet 4 and that I would have to download this from the website and have to use the confirmation email from "Visa Infromation Services" as my appointment letter. For those that will still be setting up interview appointment, just try to ask about the packet 4 to be sure. And pls do share what they will tell you so we could get a concensus which is really which.

TO SEND OR NOT TO SEND, THAT IS THE QUESTION?

USEM is surely making me dizzy.

Yeah sucks for us that we have to be the first ones to do this new procedure. No one is really quite sure what to do right now. But after a while this will become natural to the other VJ'ers.

Yes definitely. I showed my Fiancée the Tagalog packet and it was a good help for her (even though her English is pretty good).

hello, the first link will take you to the manila us embassy page which contains the informations you will need for your fiancee's visa application. http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023.html

on the "Applicant Appointment package/instructions" , since you are petitioning for a K1 visa, just focus on the first 2 links (option 1:ENGLISH VERSION & option 2:TAGALOG VERSION) which will be the packet 4 for your fiancee. Disregard the other links.

I hope i have helped clear up your confusion.

Actually, even the old Packet 4 (that USEM sent me thru DHL) has Tagalog instructions... Good job, Gaye for keeping everyone updated. With all these new procedures, I feel like being part of the "old days in the old system" even though it's only been 9 months since I had to go through all these.

Ah ok. So the mailed form actually have tagalog version also :) .

i have received so much from the a lot of peopleon this site, i just feel its right to pass a little something forward also. besides I know whoever finds out about new procedure or latest visa related buzz would not hesitate to share it with others in the same way.

the US embassy site is in need of fixin up. They still have two packets for download there, one outdated (old fees, less vaccines, no delbros, no calling for interview sched, etc.) and these recently revised packet 4. '

naqz_mrn, thank you for adding that detail.

I just hope all these could help others.

  • 3 years later...

Hi dbears, your post is very helpful.

I have been waiting also for the packet 3 to arrive, its been like over a month already since the Embassy received the approved petition. I think we should go ahead now and schedule for an appointment.

The packet 3 contains the DS-230 right? I filled out a DS-230 Form online and printed it. Do I need to send to the embassy?

If I haven't receive the packet3, St. Luke doesn't ask for an appointment letter?

Who does the scheduling of appointment? petitioner ba or beneficiary? Thank you very much

Hi itzzzchloe... my original post is 3years old already. I am pretty sure USCIS and St. Luke have rolled up lots of changes in the past 3 years. Unfortunately, I am not updated with the latest and greatest changes na. Try posting a new thread to get newer information. Good luck in your journey.
