New procedure for interview dates

I called the embassy today and spoke with Loraine (sp?) and she told me there was a new procedure that they are going by to set up interview date. She told me that we need to call their call center on March 14th. If you are calling from within the Philippines you have to be calling from a PLDT landline phone and their number is 1-909-101-7878. If you are calling from the US you call 1-888-877-9888 but there is a fee associated with calling this number. When you or your fiancé(e) calls they will be able to pick out their interview date. Just thought I would let you all know. Anyone who is waiting for an interview date, try calling the embassy at 011-63-2-301-2000 ext 5184 and see if they give you the same info.

Thanks for the info Eric. I just sent out my request for early appointment via there form because once the April comes around with my job, I could be deployed anywhere in the state when things happen. I doubt they will accept because they dont understand how things works over here, even though I explained clearly the circumstances of our case and the problems that could occur.

yes Eric, same here.. I called March 4 and was aple to speak with Lorraine. This new protocol will be implemented March14.. its all BS if you'll ask me.. oh man, what are we? rich americans? but what to do right? we have to go with the flow, we're the ones who need something from them.

No one knows what they are doing with the interview. They haven't posted any info in writing so I am skeptical.

To save money, my USC husband , then my fiance, called the Department of State here in the US. We got our medical and interview schedule from them like a month before the schedule. Didn't spend a cent. 202-663-1225, press1, press 0, press 0.

All info we needed from the US Embassy, we obtained from the DOS. I didnt even bother to check online of the shcedules after we learned the same from the DOS. After 3 weeks, more or less from receipt of our petition in the USEM, thats the time we called the DOS and got our schedules

Call DOS tomorrow, your petition was received by USEM ahead of chuck and Rose so its possible you already have your interview and medical schedules. Be ready with your MNL case number. Goodluck!!

For those who have an MNL# and do not yet have an interview date like myself, we'll just have to try to call DOS or that # ext 5184 to see what is going on.

I've tried to call that extention 2x, and the person is on the phone.

Loraine must be very busy.

If I do get to speak with her, i'll be updating everyone.
