Please help.

Until this morning I was planning on getting married here in South Africa in September, my US fiance was going fly here, get married, and file our paperwork - IR1/CR1.

But then I got a return phone call from the US embassy, and was told that we can't file the I-130 papers here as he is not a permanent Resident, or studying etc..

So now I am screwed, what do I do? What visa should I file for, how should we do things.

Please help, I am such a mess right now, it's not even funny.

Haven't seen him since the day he proposed, which was like 2 hours before I borded the plane to fly back to SA.

I know that some of you have been apart alot longer, and I'm sorry. But I'm just really lost right now.

07/07/09 Able to access my app online. Touch

09/16/09 Received APPROVED letter in the mail - no update online

APPROVED 09/11/09 EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

09/24/09 Email received with Approval information.

Come on Green Card!!

10/05/09 Green Card Arrives

You can still file your CR1 but you must have husband come back to states and file from here. Embassy is saying you cannot DCF since he was not residing there or in school. After your married and he comes back he will file the I -130 here in the states and you will stay in SA and then interview there once it is approved. Good luck.

If your fiance is an american citizen he must file the petition there (USA).
