See below for a breakdown, by state, of the percentage of national gross product contributed by each state. I've somewhat arbitrarily categorized each state as either flyover or not flyover (Y or N) and then summed up the total percentage contribution for each category.

Flyover states contribute 44.54822647% of national product.

Non-flyover states contribute 55.45177353% of national product.

Note: this does not take into account population.

Ok, now I factored population into it. I kept the original flyover classifications.

Flyover states have 47.33% of US population (as of 2007 census estimates) and contribute 44.55% of GDP.

Non-flyover states have 52.67% of US population (as of 2007 census estimates) and contribute 55.45% of GDP.

Flyover states under-contribute.

Too bad we don't apportion electoral college seats by GDP :whistle:
