Anyone got the AOS interview?

Hi, guys!

Just wondering anyone here have the simailar situation like me, may be we can share the feeling~

I filled my AOS, EAD N AP on Nov 23, 07. Got the NOA on Dec 4, 07 N the Bio. App. on Dec 15, 07. Then i got the RFE of AOS. I sent it back N check the on-line state, they got it on Jan 28, 08. I got the AOS interview letter today N they schedule us on Apr 3, 08. But i don't get my EAD N AP yet!

Feel so bad just sitting here... Miss my family in HK... Can't get driving lisence, SSN...

You don't have EAD and AP because the RFE on your AOS application put the processing of those applications on hold....

You could have gotten your SSN between day 1 and day 76 after your arrival on k-1... unfortunately this is too late for you to do anything now....

we had similar situation, because of RFE we got our EAD late, it took almost 4 months to get EAD. you can try to go to SSA office and ask for a letter, so you can apply for your license, my husband did this and got his license. Good luck.

I used to be work here then i got a SSN but i don't have the card. How can i do that? Is it tell them i want a letter to get the license ... Would u mind tell me more about the details? Thx! U know it'll be great i can get my license test first....

Most states will not issue a driver's license with only SSN, they will request evidence of legal presence, that is Green-card or EAD card.

These things take time, I have seen some get green-card before EAD or AP have a chance of being approved.

If you applied for SSN but it failed to arrive, you could apply to replace the lost SSN card, but SSA may not issue if your I-94 is expired and you dont have EAD or Green-card.

take your immigration documents to your ssa office and they can let you know the next step. also go to your BMV website to see what documents required for driver license. In my husband's case we went to ssa office and they saw his passport and issued him a letter that at this time he is inelligble to acquire ssc. we took that, his passport, our marriage certificate and i signed an affadavit for his residence and then he got his license. Good luck.
