We are now at 800 days since filing for AOS. Just wanted to put that out there - it seems many are surprised when they hear of lengthy AOS waits, perhaps because we aren't as vocal about it. There are others much worse off than us, and at least we are together. Just wanted to provide an update - this is not a pity me thread, or where is my greencard thread :)- like I said I just wanted to put it out there, the world does not end if your greencard is not in hand in a quick turnaround.

I don't think it also hurts to remind readers that in the length of time your hubby has been waiting for his greencard, most of your peers have already filed to lift conditions. Which moves them one step closer to citizenship (if they desire it).

Were in the same boat LaL we are only 2 weeks behind in days. But you are right at least we are together and that what counts someday we will get there

I don't need to say this, but I do not know how you two remain so strong through that. I would be tearing out my hair. While we had a quick turnaround and I can't really put myself in your shoes, I always hope you get it soon. Let's just hope you get a 10 year (not sure when you married) at this point!

Thanks LaL! Makes me feel better--we haven't been waiting as long, but at least I'm reminded that we're not alone in this AOS hell.

You guys have our empathy! We're at about 730 days, so you've got us beaten by a couple of months. Actually, today is the two-year anniversary of the received date that USCIS has on file for our AOS. So January 6 is a significant day for us both!

Fingers crossed that this will be the year! I'm really getting tired of this $#it. (I know you are too.)

K-1

March 7, 2005: I-129F NOA1

I feel for you all waiting so long. Do you mind me asking how in the world could it take so long to get approved for AOS or get your GC? I don't understand, I was really under the impression it could take 6 months. Definately not 800 days!! I am really shocked :o

It's the famous and dreaded FBI background check, generally the name check part of it. The USCIS halts processing the application while waiting for the results to come back from the FBI, which--as you've probably gathered--can take a very long time.
