My wife and I will be going to my AOS interview on Jan 8th in Indianapolis.

Can anyone give me any idea of what to expect?

we have received approval notices and receipts so far for the following: (I was formerly on a Student Visa)

I-130

1-765

1-131

fingerprints were done in October and I have my EAD

Am I right in guessing we are just a successful interview and FBI namecheck away from completing our process?

Thanks

it's very easy dude.

it's simple questions. and some of them Yes or no..

by the way he or she i mean the interviewer will not overstep the bounds/ he will ask u about urself i mean he wanna make sure that marriage is true marriage .. so get prepare to show him what do u have from evidence !!!

like bills/ insurances/ ect. in both names.

thats all and dont forget to let us know, how u did there..

just dont get nervous or anything just relax.

Good Luck.

We had our interview in the Indy office as well. Our interviewer was a women who barely asked us anything. She took copies of our daughters birth certificate, asked us some basic Q's (mainly my husband) and said she couldn't apporve us until the name check cleared...which we are still waiting on. GL!

mine was in Indy too!! Very simple, just a few questions. One of which I got wrong (wife's birthday, but was only out by a day and made her a day younger, so no problem there). You really have nothing to worry about.

Actually, I just checked my time line and rememebred I did have a problem since i didn't have two years of TAX, but we sent that after the interview and all was fine.

Haven't you had a CSC transfer? If so the chances of you being interviewed are now small. ;)

Hi guys

I just got back from the interview and it was all very easy and overall a pleasurable and most importnatly successful experience.

My name got called by an immigration officer at about 12.40pm (10 mins late!) and my wife and I followed the officer back to her office.

She was a really nice friendly lady in her late 20's that introduced herself as Mrs Marsden.

After she swore us in we sat down and she asked to see our ID's and passports and we duely obliged.

She proceeded to check the details on those documents and then turned to me and started asking me a series of questions:

The last time I entered the US, Name, Address, DOB, Place of Birth and my parents names. She then asked my wife the same questions.

She turned back to me and then asked me:

Have I ever been arrested?

Have I ever been involved in a crime Ive not been caught for?

Was I part of a terrorist organization?

Have I ever had any immigration issues in the US

Obviously my answers to all these questions were "No" and she moved right along to ask to see the original copies of our birth certs.

She asked where and how we met and after we responded she asked about my wifes job. Her job has changed since our original filing time in late July and I offered her an updated i-864 which she was gald to take and just confirmed the details on it with my wife.

She then asked to see supporting evidence and we gave her copies of:

Joint bank accounts

Joint House and Car Insurance

Document showing I was the beneficiary to my wifes retirement fund

Deed to the house with both our names on it

And she briefly looked through a bunch of wedding photos

The whole time she was very very nice and friendly, and after finishing with the photos she disappeared to make a couple of quick photocopies of a few documents.

When she came back she said she had everything she needed and just needed to check the status of my FBI check on her computer as the last document she had printed out showed it wasnt cleared yet.

I was fearing that I would be leaving the interview cleared pending the FBI check but she seemed almost as delighted as my wife and I when she said the computer showed that the FBI check was now cleared!!

She told us she was happy to be approving our case today, asked for me to turn in my EAD and my Advance Parole Travel Docs and then asked if we had any questions.

I asked how long it would be until I got my conditional greencard and she told me 2 weeks maximum! and that production would start about an hour after she approved it on her computer.

We left the office very pleased and delighted with the professional and friendly service we had got.

I filed on July 27 and got approved Jan 8 - 165 days in total

Thanks to everyone at VJ and I hope your journey will be as stress free as ours.

I am so happy you had a wonderful interview experience at the Indy ASC. Hubby couldn't believe how easy and relaxed our interview was. Our AO was so relaxed he almost forgot to ask us for evidence. I had to ask him if he wanted to see any of the evidence we had brought. LOL.

Congratulations on your successful interview and approval! :)

The majority of people who have a CSC transfer don't get interviewed. If you are going to get interviewed then you'll be transferred back to MSC and then onto Indy's local office.
