NOA1 to biometrics notification to biometrics appt

Submitted the AOS/AP/EAD application 12/21, just got NOA1's for all 3 dated 12/26.

Looking at the timelines and posted info, I see around 22 days average (in Detroit) from NOA1 to the actual biometrics appointment. So that would likely put our biometrics appt in late january? I haven't seen much info on the amount of time between the NOA1 and being notified of the biometrics appointment.

The reason I ask is we hoped to go on vacation during February, and it would be annoying if we booked a (domestic) flight and then found that our biometrics was scheduled for when we planned to be out of state. But if we will be notified for the appt soon, we can wait and book flights later.

Another question, I went on uscis' website and tried case status online and put in the receipt numbers, but it said the receipt number could not be found. Am I checking too early since the NOA1 is just 12/26? I'd like to figure out whether the application is at the local office in Detroit now, and get some better idea where things stand.

I think you should wait till the biometrics appointment letter comes, before making plans for your trip. Yes it's annoying but what to do. We are at their scheduling mercy!

As for the online status, it varies widely; some people see their status within a week or two of getting the NOA1, sometimes it can take a number of weeks. All you can do is keep checking online.

I had my NOA1 on Dec. 8th. and I got my biometrics letter about 2 days later. They scheduled me for Dec. 31st....and then rescheduled for Jan. 3rd because of the office being closed....

About loging in. I can't get on since I got my NOA1.about 3 weeks now. Many people are able to sign in right after biometrics for some reason though..I'm hoping that will be my case too

It doesn't really matter if you actually make that initial biometrics appointment or not. Our appointment letter said it was scheduled for such and such date and if you could not make it, to come any (Wednesday, I think it was) after that date from this time to this time. It then gave you like a 3 month window or something to that effect.

I would enjoy thoughts of my vacation and not worry so much on this one point. Worse case, I doubt a week or two later biometrics will make that much of a difference anyhow.

Once you figure out that no matter what you do, you cannot control the speed of the process and relax just a bit, you have already won the battle.

Just remember, someone on here has always been there before you and can probably ease your mind or help you cope when it gets too much for you. Soon it will all be just a memory.

I'm going to send up a special prayer for 2008 to be your year. Not sure if the big guy listens to me specifically; but it's worth a try! Good luck.

Lol )) Thank you )) I just need my EAD for now ))) Can you pray for that? GC can just come whenever...I could care less to be honest I just have to start paying them bills

You're a very nice person...I really appreciate that....I hope everyone that is truly in love on this site and not doing it just for getting to the US will be processed as fast as possible...No one should be separated from the other half!
