hello guys!

i was reading a thread on wrong spelling of the name in the BC, when vsmtghdy replied that being if you were on a late registration, you will be put into AR.

quoting his reply:

"There are applicants who were placed on AR for weeks due to problems with BC (late registration, disrepancy with names, etc..)."

IS THIS TRUE??? any experience of being interviewed with a late registration BC and were put into AR?

hoping for your reply soon.

thanks in advance!

terps76 (also a member here) was placed on AR for 2 weeks because of her BC that was late registered. She had her baptismal certificate and school records with her during her interview (which was Last Feb or March), but still the CO/USEM did their own checkings.

Another member (form other site) was also placed on AR for a month due to late registered BC. She was asked to submit additional documents.

These are the ones I know that were placed on AR due to late registered BC.

Lots of Filipinos are late registered mainly do to birth by a hilot and not in a hospital.

If they don't have evidence supporting they are who the BC says they are there is a GOOD chance they will be put on AR and have to provide such evidence to clear things up.

Here are some of the documents a friend of mine submitted after she was on AR to clear things up.

She was on AR for about 4 months as it took her awhile to get all this.

1. Old and New identification (ID) cards (i.e. school, employment, driver's license, ATM's, credit cards, PRC, SSS, BIR).

2. School Records (i.e. certificates, diplomas, registration/report/class cards).

3. Class Picture and Year/Annual Books/or Souvenir Books

4. SSS E-1 and E-4 Forms (must be original or certified copies from SSS Head Office).

5. Original Baptismal Certificate

6. Photo of Baptismal Registry Book, which includes the Book Cover, Prayer Cover and page on which appear your name, date of birth, date of baptism, name of biological and Godparents, ( picture size must be 8 X 11 inches).

7. Employment and/or income tax record ( OLD and NEW)

Bottomline is! If you are late registered get as much evidence as you can before the interview.

My wife was born in a nipa in the bundoks and was 7 years late registered and had most all of the above. They only asked for babtismal tho and she didn't have any problems getting approval.

More ammo the better tho.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Now that I think of it, we were very lucky to get the visa. My wife didn't have a baptismal certificate either, they had asked her for it though. That was also burned in a fire. She had a late registered birth certificate, government identification, work and school records. It wasn't till I told her to get extra copies of the birth certificate that we found out NSO had two entries for her birth certificate and gave her the wrong one and said they deleted the other entry which was the correct one. We hired a lawyer to fix the mess but her interview came first. The lawyer finally resolved the birth certificate issue last week.. I was half asleep this morning and forgot about that when I posted. I thought for sure she would never be approved till it was resolved but I guess miracles happen. I've also read others were not as lucky.

I am also interested in learning more about this "late registered" birth certificate issue. While I am still within a day or 2 of filing my fiancee's I-129F, I am at the same time trying to plan ahead, and I just recently came across a couple of posts about possible AR's if the beneficiary has a "late registered" BC. When I read these posts, I asked Mayet about her birth certificate, and as luck would have it - it is "late registered".

I understand that it is very very common in the Philippines to have a "late registered" BC, especially if you were born in rural areas, and - no matter where you were born - if your family was poor at the time of birth.

I hope Irene's question gets some quality responses.

Thanks,

Lee
