There's no guarantee that you will have an interview. You may be transferred to California instead.

If you search at the bottom of this forum for "interview" you can read people's experiences and the types of questions they asked. Sometimes it's a painless 15 minute interview asking the basics of your relationship, sometimes they want to interview you separately to see how your answers match up. You could even search for "San Francisco interview" to see interview recaps specifically from SF.

They may or may not ask for evidence, so should you have an interview, be prepared and have the following:

Passport + I-94

Marriage Certificate (original)

USC identification (driver's license, passport, etc.)

All originals of the evidence you submitted for AOS (tax transcripts, W2s, birth certificate, divorce certificates, etc.)

Evidence of marriage/co-habitation (includes, but not limited to: joint accounts, insurance with both names, lease with both names, mortgage with both names, mail in both names like congratulations cards from family or personal letters, utility bills in both names, gym membership in both names, Blockbuster card in both names, etc.)

Photos of you together (pictures from wedding, pictures from trips, general pictures together...pictures of you together with family members would be good, too) - note: a lot of interviewers do not ask for photos and some downright do not want to see them, but it is a good idea to bring some with just in case

Like I said, there's a chance you won't even have an interview, but here are some things to think about obtaining should you get an interview date.

Good Luck!

Every interview is different, for example in my interview our interviewer had no interest in looking at any photographs ("Too easily faked") and spent more time asking how much I weigh than stuff like how we met.

I believe there is a page of interview experiences on this website, you should check that out.

Not a problem! Like Dr. LHA said, there are a lot of interview experiences documented on this website, so should it come to that definitely read up on what you might expect...and then expect something totally different because no two interviews are the same.

The interview letter also lists what you should bring. For mine, as evidence of relationship I'm bringing a handful of photos, joint bills and accounts, flight tickets and itinerarys (pre-K3) and letters from friends and famly. I'm of course bringing all the other paperwork they're asking for too like originals of everything I've filed.

K3 Timeline - 2006-11-20 to 2007-03-19

See the comments section in my timeline for full details of my K3 dates, transfers and touches. Also see my Vancouver consulate review and my POE review.
