warning on interview date change

Just to let every one know My wifes final interview was a month ago and a couple weeks before the date I had a chance to take a quick job that would have neted most of my years income but myself having just gotten back from a job, we decided to let it go. The following week we went to the immigration office Downtown to find out how to change the apt date if another job comes up; all my jobs are unexpected and I leave within 72 hours of getting one. We were told that they only adjust the dates for extreame emergenceys like a death and that you must prove it to them, a new apt could take up to a year to get; if they do not just void her visa. So I would think very very hard before you follow their instructions on the bottom of the appointment form to change the interview date even though the statement is very benign and appers it is not a problem to do; this is very very far from the truth.

P.S. she passed the interview; it was only about 15 mins; asked me how we meet and why I loved her; asked her the same. my wife is very very funny and when asked if she had ever been arrested she said "Not Yet" the very nice interviewer lady corrected her and says that that is not the correct way to answer the question like that; it is a simple "No"

My wife apoligized for the poor humor and things went on well from there. I thought it was quite funny myself, both the joke and her dressing down, but managed to contain all but a slight giggle.

Blessings

gupt0014,

Not at all. A nice, open question, allowing plenty of room for the person to either make their case or hang themself. An excellent question for the purpose.

In any case, invasive questions are quite acceptable at such interviews.

I'm kinda worried about that..

I'm taking a couple of university courses this summer, just to finish my degree and speed up my graduation.. The courses end in Aug.. What if by some off chance my interview date gets scheduled on an exam day..?!

I'm assuming:

The Embassy will say, "well, you will have to decide.. this could postpone ur process a lot.."

The University will say, "this is not a legitimate emergency reason for why you cannot write an exam.. it's an appointment!"

Miss the exam, fail the course, retake it another time!

Lucky, there are worse things as well. People have been denied, even after the the interview was descheduled. SHOW UP on your date!

I thought you were waiting to hear still?

I asked for a reschedule of my CR-1 interview in Montreal. It's been almost 6 months now and still no interview in site. My personal experience would also tell someone to do everything possible to get to the interview. I'm not sorry for asking for a reschedule though, the well being of my new baby as much more important and took priority for me.

I had the final AOS interview scheduled for January but was travelling during that time. I requested an infopass appt late December to request a re-schedule. They asked me to send a letter with photocopies of tickets etc to the local office requesting the re-schedule. I did get re-scheduled for April finally and had the interview. Waiting now on the name check.

Request an infopass and have the local office do the re-scheduling instead of the 1-800 number.

great news! Thanks for telling us that your re-scheduling was successful:)

We really can't cancel our wedding or the honeymoon. Even if we have to delay the process, we have to reschedule the interview if our interview will be scheduled durling our wedding/honeymoon. We know that we won't regret.....

Thanks!
