If not, is Western Union the best way to send money from Brazil to the US?

Hi Bora. I am not certain if this will work for you but it's worth a shot. You might try registering a Paypal account at www.paypal.com Then you can both have access to the other's money. You or your fiance can apply for 2 debit cards and you each can have one. I am not certain if Paypal offers an exchange in reals? But I thought it might be worth checking on. Take care.

Thanks.

I guess he can try a wire transfer - we're already living in the U.S. together so it's not for him to send me money. It'd be for a friend or relative (not someone as intimate as his wife), so wire transfers would probably be the best.

Hi. I was wondering if someone new exactly what is in the Brazil RDJ Packet 3? I see on this website that the DS-2001 and DS-230 and Passport Photo and Passport information are required. Are these the only items required for us to mail to the Embassy? Are there any other papers that my fiance will be required to mail to the Embassy along with these forms, such as, the police reports, etc...? Can you say exactly what we will be required to mail in to the Embassy in packet 3? Thank for you help.

Well I received money from Brazil yesterday...I'm in the US with my husband, but not as an immigrant yet. I tried the Western Union but it did't work. B anco do Brasil just accept that if the person sending the money have an account with then...I have an account in this bank, but it's also not allowed for me to send money from my account to myself. So I made a transfer to my father's account and he sent a wire transfer from his bank to my husband's US account....worked
