Check with the NVC after 9:00pm today, I'm assuming yours did'nt get ther yet.

After they have found your petition... don't forget to ask for your NVC #.

Good Luck,

I started calling after about a week of getting the noa2. You can also email them. Either way, you need to provide the uscis number and names and DOBs. Remember if you call, you need to speak with a person, not the automated system.

Thanks, that helps a lot. I read the best times to call are around 7:30am and 9pm eastern standard time, is that correct?

Yes it is. I called around noon one time and it took at least 20 attempts. Everytime I called early in the morning or late at night, it only took 3 or 4 attempts.

The NVC will assign your case a NVC number when data entry is done on your petition.

After your petition/package has left the NVC.... 3 to 5 business days later call the embassy using your

NVC number to see if they have received it.

The NVC does the initial background check on your SO, if he or she has been married before and didnt tell you or if they have some kind of criminal record of any kind will delay your petition from leaving NVC. This FBI background check should only take a couple of hours if there are no problems.... Then off to Embassies.

The Service Centers do background checks on the US citizens and NVC on the fiance or fiancee.

Then the embassy wants police clearances from all places lived since 16 years of age.
