Since someone who's above me (M.) was finally approved the other day, maybe I'm expecting an approval within the next week?! Fingers crossed! If the dates mean anything.

It's just so frustrating having to wait for much longer than others. I am guessing this is due to the FBI name check. Are they checking what you've done since entering the USA? It can't be anything before that because we've had that. Someone at a job agency told me there are NINETEEN other people in the town I live with the same name! That is not good news!!!

3rd August 06 - EAD received at USCIS

29th August 06 - Biometrics

18th September 06 - Case (AOS) transfered to CSC on 9/14 (advised by mail)

4/6/10th October 06 - EAD touched!

11th October 06 - Email from USCIS - EAD Approved on 10/10! Card on the way!

16th October 06 - EAD card received!

16th October 06 - EAD Application email received confirming letter to be sent.

22nd February 07 - Email sent to USCIS requesting an update.

5th March 07 - Case touched! AOS is now "pending" at the CSC! Progress!

5th March 07 - Email from CSC confirming I am awaiting the results of the FBI name check.

27th April 07 - Email received. A notice requesting additional info has been mailed.

4th May 07 - RFE letter arrived.

21st May 07 - RFE docs returned to USCIS by mail.

6th June 07 - Email from CRIS saying RFE received and case processing has resumed!

26th June 07 - Phone call from a USCIS officer at the CSC in California asking for a copy of my I-94 by fax.

27th June 07 - InfoPass appointment at 745am.

12th August 07 - Email from CRIS - Green Card on order as of 8/11!

15th August 07 - Email from CRIS - Welcome Notice sent.

18th August 07 - Welcome Notice Received.

20th August 07 - GC received!

As I understand it, it's a more in-depth background check than the one you've had before. It's all-inclusive.

My husband has a super-common name, too, and I think his namecheck is about over now (they're touching our case again, after months and months of nothing at all), so yours may be done soon, too.

Here's to hoping.

Conditions Removed! Ten-year green card received 6/24/2009. No more USCIS for a very long time.

From the info they collect at the biometrics it sure seems thorough, I thought the guy was gonna scan my toes as well! He did my thumb a bunch of times! And not 'cus he didn't like the scan, he did my thumb, my 4 fingers, then my thumb, then my index, then one by one, then my thumb again, then my index again, and then my thumb one more time. #######?!!??!?!?!

Height, weight, eye and hair color. They sure are doing a deeper search.

Well it looks like CSC has fallen asleep again. -_- Or at least taken themselves a bit of a holiday. TICK TOCK GUYS!! :clock:

The touches on my daughter's case turned out to be a big foopah. She got a letter stating I enquired on her case 4 and a half months ago and now will have to wait 6 months from the date of the letter (January 30) if nothing has happened on it. :bonk: SHEESH!! One month to go til I can find out what the heck is happening with mine, then it will be SIX MONTHS since it was transferred for "faster" processing to CSC.

We're still waiting on our (second) RFE letter. Gah. You'd think that if they had everything they wanted before, that would still be the case now.

Conditions Removed! Ten-year green card received 6/24/2009. No more USCIS for a very long time.

I am shocked. I expected everyone just to be in namecheck hell after that period of time. Hope the RFE is easily sorted.

My theory is that we were in namecheck hell, and that they waited until we were out of it before they started processing our case again. Who knows what the RFE is for, though -- we still haven't receieved it. Hopefully today - fingers crossed!
