It's obvious to me, Type2; that in the light of the members here straightening out differences and resolving to build a better place, your motives for posting this were not out of any concern for those involved or the members of this forum, but to merely start some sort of new drama. You are hardly the poster child for VJPC or sensitivity yourself.

When I feel I need your briefings on what's apropriate to post, I'll consult you, k?

I had to reflect for a few mins.

you know sometimes when something is held in confidence.

what point should it be breached? example in abuse and suicidal

cases?

then again..maybe these things were not used to hurt anyone.

maybe they were revealed to relived pressure from the person

being told the secrets. you know maybe the pressure - was to great to hold it in.

Just a few thoughts...

I don't think Meriem meant anything by 'revealing secrets'. Sometimes, if there is a group of friends and two of them are worried about another, those two will discuss the other persons 'problem' trying to figure out what type of support they should offer the third as a collective. I honestly do not believe that Meriem could forsee that these two girls would turn so ugly towards each other and start backbiting on a public forum. If anything I would say perhaps Meriem should be more careful in selecting friends in the future.

My advice regarding turning the MENA forum around.... it's going to sound harsh but I'm just going to be blunt.... refrain the wolfpack from pouncing on anyone who expresses an opinion that's different from theirs.

There's going to be differences of opinions and everyone should have the freedom to express theirs. Not just the ones that the 'pack' likes today. Anyone who has an opinion that's different from theirs is immediately villanized, slandered and scandalized. It's a lot of ####### really. It's happened to me and I've seen it happen to many others in my time here as well. It causes a lot of resentment and things escalate from there. I personally have tough skin and can take a lot of the poo that gets flung without getting my feelings hurt too much but I know others can't.

Believe it or not it is possible to have a civil debate/disagreement without turning the other person into a (insert evil nickname here ---#######/dog/fat/ugly/etc).

There is no reason that there can't be lively conversation in this section of VJ. It doesn't all have to be the standard gum-drop replies--- "that's great!" "congratulations!" "oh too bad, hope it works out!" --- Most of us are intelligent grown adults here and should be able to engage in a discussion without name calling and slander.

I also agree with Charles, it is not the 'outsiders' fault that this section is out of control... they come here to lurk after the drama has begun because we offer them entertainment at the expense of our own self respect ... some of them fuel the flames perhaps but the fire was already there... they didn't light the match

I wonder why you clearly are referring to Icey in this way? I happen to know her personally and she is a great person and would never do or say anything to hurt anyone. I also know that Meriem and her are good friends and talk frequently over the phone and online etc. Why does Meriem need to be more careful in choosing friends and what do you mean by that?
