March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC

March 10th 2014 - AOS shows as paid in the CEAC portal/AOS logged into system as being received by NVC.

We received the welcome to the United States of America this morning! I'm soooo excited and think I will just go crazy with excitement when the green card comes. As soon as it comes through, I'm booking my flights to go back and see my family. I haven't seen them for nearly a year and my Dad and sisters are going to keep it quiet so I can surprise my Mum :D:lol: . Then I can come back to Texas and start work yippppeeeeeeeeeeee :dance:

Hi everybody!!!

I've been away from VJ for a while as I've been out of the country with my hubby :dance: and just got back!

I sure missed you guys, and it seems that I've missed A LOT of good news, too! :D

First of all:

CONGRATULATIONS ANDRIA, KAT and everybody else for your approvals!!!

It is such great news and Kat, you really had a speedy AOS, I am SO happy for you! :thumbs:

Hope we can get to talk or even meet sometime, now that you guys are done with the immigration stress! :whistle:

September sounds GREAT!

I just read that you might go back to the UK after you get you GC (which I'm sure will be VERY soon! :thumbs: ), so we'll definitely meet when you get back to the US! :dance:

...Maybe our pups will get to meet, too! :D

The journey is over for 2 years! Shannon just called and my green card (which is apparently white) arrived in this mornings mail :lol::D:D:D:D

Sorry I haven't been online in a while, I've been sweltering in the insane heats and spending pretty my 90% of my time either in the bath or bed. 5 weeks to go until I get my figure back. Whew. :D

I saw someones question about the 70 day letter hasn't been answered so I thought I'd do the honors! The way it seems to work (according to my friendly interviewer!) is that anyone not approved by day 70 gets sent a letter giving them an appointment to apply for an EAD at some ungodly hour two weeks later.

When you show up to that, they have a list at the desk of people who have been sent the 70 day letter, but have since been approved - and they will not issue the EAD to these people. (of which I was one!) Everyone else is allowed to go ahead with the EAD application and pays the required fee.

So basically, getting the 70 day letter is no indication of the amount of time you have left to wait. They may approve your case the next day, or 48 days from when you receive it. It is up to you whether you want to take the gamble and apply for it, or wait it out.

It seems DORA is running at super speeds these days, so I am very happy for everyone who has been approved recently!! CONGRATULATIONS!!

Geordielovr - has Dan got his GC yet? If not I think we should take bets on which will arrive first - Aiden - due on Sept 29th, or the GC. ;)
