When NVC sends out DS 230 is it sent by email or postal mail and how is it returned.

If it is sent to the benificary by postal mail doesnt this

take quiet a bit of time for this to be sent out and then for the benificary to send back?

And what other documents does benificary send back to NVC (like birth cert. medical???)

We assumed the DS 230 was taken to interview along with medical, birth cert. police record, court record, ect.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Normally - and unless a DCF'd I-130 -

NVC does not 'send out' any forms to you - UNLESS you are playing 'the postal game'.

During 'the postal game' - there is about 3 months of waiting time between each thing - ie

1. casefile at NVC - NVC sends DS-3032 to beneficiary after 90 days, if no prior contact with NVC.

2. NVC sends I-864 to petitioner - if no activity in 90 days on casefile, NVC sends the form.

3. NVC sends DS-230 to beneficiary - if no activity in 90 days on casefile, NVC sends the form.

So - if you are, indeed, playing the postal game, sure- wait for the next thing to be sent to you.

IF YOU ARE NOT PLAYING the postal game - hey ! that form is available for download - you can download it - fill it out, print it, sign it, and get it back to NVC ASAP !!

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Totally Wrong Assumption. If you got advice from other human, please - get them lost in the desert this weekend? Leave them there?

Please?

Here's the basis of knowledge for you - please read it?

DS-230 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

I-864 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3730.html

General NVC stuff - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html

Some ppl want speed for NVC processing, so they use the shortcuts from LingChe, at

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut

-------------

all of the above applies if you are NOT doing Direct Consular Filing of the I-130.

If the I-130, instead, was sent to the Chicago Lockbox, please - study the above, map out yer plan of attack.

Good Luck !

to NVC -

DS-3032

I-864 plus supporting docs

DS-230 plus supporting docs

sent in via postal mail or courier (fedex, UPS, dhl, EMS)

some ppl send in an ASCII version of the DS-3032 via email to NVC - there is special template for it here on the wiki.

re: interview - for an I-130 petition - most people bring in:

1. updated evolution of relationship letter

2. proof of bonafide marriage/relationship

3. photos of the two of you together

4. medical exam results

5. interview letter.

The DS-230 has specific 'supporting docs' requirements.

Don't be lazy, please - read the DS-230 section on state.gov, all 7 pages, until you understand it.

For some ppl, that means 'read it twice'. For other ppl, that means 'read it 10 times, make copious notes, draw a flowchart of the system on big paper with green crayons'. I'm a fan of green crayons - helps with MY knowledge acquisition, each time.
