If his adjustment of status is based on his status as an asylee for 1 year, then an affidavit of support is not required because a sponsor is not required.

You have now posted this exact same question more than 5 times in different places. Stop posting the same thing in a bunch of different places and view what people answered on your other posts. You obviously never read the link that I posted to you with ALL the information for asylee AOS. Nor have you read the post from another VJ member stating that a 1 year asylee does not need I-864.

Filing for Permanent Residence (Green Card)

You may apply for a green card one year after being granted asylum. To apply for a green card, file a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status. You must submit a separate I-485 application packet for yourself and, if applicable, for each family member who received derivative asylum based on your case.
