Changing Interview Date in Brazil

We have successfully been approved and received the NOA2 and notice from the NVC that our case was sent to the consulate in Rio De Janeiro. We are now waiting for my fiance to receive a packet from the consulate in Rio with instructions and interview date.

My fiance is a student, and cannot easily take a couple days off to go to Rio (she lives in Santos). Is it possible to move the assigned interview date if necessary?

Thanks,

Drew

Drew, your best option is to contact the embassy in Rio since now they have your case. The NVC has issued a new case number starting with RDJ XXXXXXX this is the number you will need to refer when addressing the embassy. Emails are the best way of communicating with them, they answer fairly quick. ImmigrationRio@state.gov, this way you keep records of your communication.

Hope the embassy wont delay your process during the re-schedule...

Best of Luck

By the way, forgot to add.. Now that NVC has forwared the package to Rio de Janeiro, you can skip package 3 and 4 process by requesting your interview via email the address given above. But you need your RDJ #.

Hello there ;)

The package 3 is no longer needed, Rio Embassy will send it to you with a letter and with the same link from the email. They don't expect us to send a few forms and passport in advance.

Here is a copy of Rio Embassy email with my interview date.
