First of all thank you all for answers, opinions, advice and support. It's been very helpful.

I am going to share my experience and I will try to recall the most information I can - it's been few

days ago, and actually the experience was one I'd rather forget.

Our AOS interview was in Portland, Oregon, on Tuesday, July 25th.

It was long and stresfull interview, but I think our case was not very easy either.

It took about an hour. It was scheduled at 1:30 pm, and at that time my name was called. The immigration officer was older woman, very official.

We swore to tell the truth and gave her our IDs.

It started normally, she went through all forms she already had, veryfing information, names,

addresses, parents names, she asked us each other birth dates, When she veryfied my address told her that month ago I moved to Phoenix to start a job, after that she started to ask a lot of detailed questions, at the same time going through the rest of papers.

She asked us (these questions are not in order)

-how did we meet, when did we meet next time,

-have you even been married before

-if I was in US before, when, for how long, where did I stay, on which visa,

-on which visa I entered country last time and when was it.

-what did I study in Poland, where do I work,

-she asked my husband where does he work

-when was wedding, how many people attended, were any of my family members present, if we have photos

We had photos, we showed them, she started to view them and took few and asked me who are this people on the photo, who took these photos.

-when did I move to Phx, why, is my husband going to follow me, when, why not now ...

-then she asked all 'no' questions from I-485 form

Then she asked for evidence that we are living together.

We provided joint bank accounts, library accounts showing the same address, notarized letters from

friends, receipt from our stay in hotel after wedding (it was a gift), receipt of gift my husband gave

me for birthday.

We didn't have much more, she asked if we have any of things like health insurance together, car

insurance, bills, debts, mortgage etc. We didn't have much more, becasue we were not able to collect some of this things yet.

We had also letters addressed to both of us - I mentioned it, but never took it out, I was so nervous

I wanted to give her all these things at the same time :)

It took about 20-25 minutes, then she left to make copies of the documents, it took her a while. She didn't talk much and didn't say much which would indicate an outcome, we were wonderering how we were

doing.

When she came back - we thought she was going to tell us something, but instead, she separated us and gave us a questionaire (3 pages of personal questions about our marriage) to fill out.

I was so surprised.

Here are some of the questions:

-what was your spouse's high school (place, years)

-list your spouse's brothers and sisters (names, aproximate age, place of residence) and your brothers and sisters

-names of parents

-what time did you go to bed, and your spouse

-what time did you get up, and your spouse

-when did you share last meal (what was it)

-what side of bed do you sleep

-how many TVs are in place you live

-does your spouse have any tatoos, scars, if so where on the body, do you have any?

-does your spouse have any medical conditions, does she/he take any medicines

-what's the color of shower curtain in your bathroom ( I started to laugh when I saw this question)

-anniversary date of your marriage

-how long have you been living together

-when was a proposal

-where did you buy engagment and/or wedding rings, did you go to buy them together

-where was your first date, what did you do

-where you and your spouse were born

That's pretty much I remember, there were probably few more I can't recall.

After we finished she said that she would review that and the decision will be made and mailed to us within 1-2 weeks. She explained issues around changing an address in the future and about potential 2 years conditional card - and how to apply to remove conditions. She didn't take EAD, she took I-94.

That was it. We didn't know what was going to happen - we left the interview with a lot of

uncertainty.

Next day - I checked status by phone - and it was approved - it said that on July 25th 2006 Welcome Notice was mailed - - - WHAT A RELIEF !!!!

We knew that the questionaire would show her our legitimate marriage and convince her if she had any

doubts.

To tell the truth I didn't expect an easy interview - mainly because of two things - living separetly

at this time and age difference.

I am so happy that it's over for now.

I wish you all good luck and a lot of patience.

Congraulations!!!

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I never would have thought they would ask such weird questions. My high school experience was one I would rather forget so I never really talked about it with my fiancé.

It reminds me of history tests where they worry about you getting the year of every event right when the real point of history is to learn the events that happened and how those events shaped other events, and society.
