####### sister, I'd be mad at me too!!! I get so cheese off when I see people in our exact boat, country, visa and they finish well after someone else and get an interview first?? This makes NO sense to me and it's no one's fault but NVC/Montreal.... they have some s'plaining to do!

I hope they start scheduling you guys too!

It'd be nice if they just went nutty and scheduled a TON -- I'd love that.... play catch up for the next few months would be nice.

Good luck, Peachey and all the rest of you...

:)

Them going nutty and scheduling a ton is about the only way I won't be tempted to throw things at them.

:innocent:

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

Man, Americana2009...

I would just freak my freak out if that happened to me... I am at work and well, let's just say that that would NOT go over well...

I'll try calling again next week..

Good luck and I'm happy for you guys -- it IS nice to see people who've finished ages ago finally get to go..

:)

my fingers are so crossed for you. I felt the same way about calling I thought for sure they would say not yet. When I called the lady was really nice asked for a case # put me on hold for a couple of minutes then came back and asked for my husbands name then said "your interview is nov. 18 at 9:00 am." I am so praying for you!

Corrected Sean's I-130 date and added Americana - Americana I see you are DCF filer, so for your 'Filed For' field (the one that shows under your username) instead of CR1/IR1 it should read DCF.

And I have added you to the list, welcome and congrats on getting your interview date!

Hey everyone...Im hoping someone can help me with this. Now that the interview date is fast approaching, Im starting to get my paperwork organized.

I realized that there is some disparity in my last name. I got married in Canada but I continued with my maiden name b.c I did not want to change ID's since I was planning to move anyways. So, the criminal check, passport, etc all has my maiden name on it. But the petition was filed under my married name b.c I wanted to take on my husbands last name once I moved to US rather than having to change all over. The correspondance b/w NVC and me has included my maiden name and only once did the put my husbands last name in the "Visa Applicant" section.

Would this be a problem b/c I have a marriage cert that would show my maiden name and then my husbands last name. Can they issue a visa with my new last name if my passport is still under my maiden name? Im assuming i would have to carry my marriage cert around right?

Ahh!

Hi,

No, your visa will be in the name that appears on your passport. If you want it in your married name you should go ahead and get a new passport before the interview.

When you think about it, how hard is it really to schedule interviews?

It is really THAT hard to go a month ahead or so in the calender, look at the list of P3 returns and plunk in so many CR-1s, K-1s and K-3s into the dates?

Maybe I should go do it for them :P

I bet I could do a better job than them.

Hey Varba, I know, right? It's insane. I often think about saying something if/when I get my interview but nah, at that point I'll just be relieved to get it all done. I just don't get how they can be so bad at this when consulates with way bigger work loads are zooming through....

Anyway...

it's a rough go I'm hating the feeling of my entire life is on hold and I'm sure you must all feel the same way. And I don't even have a wedding to plan. But I will miss my first year wedding anniversary and that blows BIG time.

Good luck all, K1s, CR1s, etc from Canada...

Them going nutty and scheduling a ton is about the only way I won't be tempted to throw things at them.

:innocent:

I know exactly how you feel! After getting the interview date, I've been noticeably in a much better mood all the time now. I think the worst of it all is not knowing when I have to show up at the consulate. It feels like light years away now but it's only been less than a week. I've got my train and hotel reservations already complete. I think the Habs are playing either the night I get in or the night just after the interview -- it's only about a 10-15 minute walk from my hotel to the Bell Center, so I'm definitely tempted. I even think they're playing Carolina! haha I'll be happy getting some souvenirs for my daughter and then vegging out on my hotel couch until the next morning.

Does anyone know if Montreal is still doing next day visa pickups? My train doesn't leave until about 9:30 the day after my interview, so I might be able to squeeze that in to avoid the wait (Gare Centrale is only about 10 or so minutes walk from the consulate). I know I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, but based on all the information we sent in and the fact they've accepted and approved of everything and indicated this in the interview letter (all I have to take in is the medical packet -- they even have the photos already), I would think that it really is just a formality at this point. Nevertheless, I'm bringing every piece of documentation I can to back me up!

The next day pick up is 100% up to the CO you get on the day. Some offer, some don't - it sure can't hurt to ask!

I'll make an effort to try to get it the next day. From what you've heard, would I have to wait like before the interview, or would I just pop in and a guard gives it to me or something like that? I have about 45 minutes to an hour before I would need to get walking to the train station from when the consulate opens. Depending on how long it would take, I could make it the next day.
