So.... after reading through April and May K-1 Status update topics, I have noticed the tendancy for us UK immigrators that we all get stuck in AP almost immediately! This topic is for any discussions about NVC status updates, especially for those of us waiting for our packets to find their way out of AP and off to the London Embassy!!!

How many days have you been stuck? Any explanations for the difference between Administrative Processing and Additional Processing?

I found NVC had my packet on Friday, spoke with someone on Monday, and they said I was in Additional Processing, and there is no turnaround timeframe to go by on when they could send my packet to London...

Who has been sent to London? How long did it take for your packet to leave NVC?

Wishing us the best of luck!

~Chaz

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

Hey!

Kind of glad to see someone mention this as I've been wondering the same thing today. The CSC made a mistake with my fiancee's DOB so it has stopped us from getting any info from the NVC - I've emailed them a copy of her passport but to no avail. I did manage to get thru to them once though because they failed to verify her date of birth properly - that is when i got the AP status and other info.

NVC has had my case since August 10th and was told after many times of calling that we were in AP. They obv don't give a date for this and also no reason.

So today i called the Dept of State and they explained that the NVC don't like to bombard the London Embassy and overload them with cases. Basically, our cases will be sent as the one's already there are sorted.

Its kind of a relief but its now just a case of playing the waiting game.

Ergh. I certainly don't think that is fair to pull certain countries....I personally would rather wait a little longer in London to get an appointment than to be stuck in AP. Just for the mental fact that it is one step closer for the paperwork to actually be in the UK.

I know this is probably an old issue, but how is it that NVC can have no timeline for AP. Its like being stuck in Narnia and not knowing when you will return.

You know thats a excellent way to describe it...Narnia....lol...I like that....

Well hopefully all us couples will get out of AP soon...this stuff really sucks. Timewise I met Nigel online April of 08, physically Sept 12/08 but I knew he was "the one" the very moment I met him online....then was pure magic when we met....been like that ever since....and i miss him horribly....he's working alot to save some money for our life here and adjustment of status and interview, medical...etc...he's a bachelor with very little expenses so he can save a few thou no prob. Me, I have a 15yr old daughter, and well stuff that goes along with it! But I own my own house and have no car payment but still, its so much easier for him to save money than me!!

Definitely will keep in touch, nobody really knows what its like but the people here and well we can sit here and crab all we want and well...it helps....lol

Money and Government seems to be the bane of my existence. I wish I could afford a trip to England, but I don't even know how we'll get enough money to fly him down when his Visa is approved.... What's worse, is I work all day with really REALLY rich people... it makes me miserable sometimes, seeing how easy life could be for some of these people. Someday, I dream to be like them :D... except, I'll be with the love of my life, and not with people just because they want money... suppose I could look at the bright side... lol...

Ok, been doing some research on recent NOA2 approvals from around the past month. Only about half from the UK seem to get stuck in AP for any great length of time.

Mysterious.....

I wonder if they all got stuck in AP in general... what the average number of days for AP for UK folks would be...

I think I could handle that... I mean, if they only gave us a timeframe, you know? We'll send it to London before the end of next month... something! I mean... yeah..... I can do this... lol... I was able to be away from him for 14 months... I just saw him this April... I can do it... I'll just keep telling myself this....
