How difficult would it be for my paisa girlfriend to obtain a tourist visa to the US?

How much money would she need to have in her bank account when going through the screening process?

How long does the whole process take for a tourist visa?

She's 30 years old, has no children, lives with her parents, and has been working in an electronics warehouse for about four years. She is also studying at a local university.

I think it would be better for her to visit the U.S. and become familiar with the different way of life here before proceeding further in the relationship.

If things turn out well then eventually we would like to get married in Colombia and she can apply for a Spouse Visa.

Is it easier to obtain a Fiance Visa than a Spouse Visa?

Thank you

Lots of questions there my friend...

Columbia to US tourist visa would be difficult (although not impossible) - they just don't give them out very often (based on what I've seen here on VJ) - have to show really strong ties to Columbia which isn't as easy as it might sound.

Post the question here

Colombia Club II

But it is very diffcult at this embassy for sure

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

How difficult? Hmmm. Let's see. She has no children, lives with parents...these are major strikes against her. The consul wants to see that she has strong ties to Colombia and nothing you mention is a compeling reason for her to come back. Another thing is that should you decide to attempt the Tourist Visa route, she should never mention that she's going to visit her boyfriend. That will be a major red flag for her. And money in the bank is not as important as actual real estate. In the end, they may never look at any of that. Colombia is very difficult. Sometime is just the luck of the draw.

Another thing is the Fiance visa vs a Spouse visa, when you get that far, DO NOT attempt the Spouse visa route. This is much more paperwork and more processing time. The Fiance visa (K1) is much easier to obtain.

Go through the Colombia Club posts and read it all. This will help answer many questions as they come up.

Good luck.

I would agree with all of the above...it would really be difficult. Also Club Colombia is a valuable asset
