Oh and "jundp", I hope you enjoy the timeline.

You know what? I've been kind and polite to you. Others, not so much. I tried to point out in a realistic manner why a timeline is helpful. And you come back with a smart a$$ response? Wow. With that type of attitude, I'm not surprised you haven't gotten more help.

Your timeline does nothing to help me. Note that my husband is already here in the US. However, as this is a family immigration forum to help others going through the process and you have asked for help for a situation which others may experience it's pretty darn selfish of you to say "oh there's no need but help me anyway."

I had some more suggestions about where you could go for free or inexpensive legal help but I don't feel inclined to help someone who is rude.

Good luck.

X-cuse me???? People are giving you suggestions on how to get help and you have the guts to get snappy? ####### is wrong with you? None of us has any stakes in you coming over to the US; neither does USCIS. It is YOUR job to navigate through the system, like all of us did at one point or another. You can cry, b1tch and moan all you want; but unless you get the ball rolling with an attorney, chances are you will not get anything done. Newsflash: it is not USCIS duty to keep you informed, it is the other way around. So get with the program, or not.

Oh and "jundp", I hope you enjoy the timeline.

Way to go... ask for some assistance, people give it to you.

People ask you to make a timeline to assist others, you decline.

Seems odd, no?

Not sure how many would give you advice/tips in the future. Seems like you're batting 1000 over there. Good luck.

EDIT: Oh #######, I just realized that since we're married I probably still couldn't go visit him in the USA... that's kind of the problem right now too, isn't it... The homeland security would just send me home, thinking I intend to stay permanently... Oh well, I guess it'd be down to him to visit me then... I'm sure that in a couple of years he'll start getting more than 2 weeks of paid holiday a year hehe... Good thing there's internet!

Wasn't an issue for us.

Isa visited me in the US for 7 months (with visa extension) while we were navigating through the IR1 process.

Mrs B. I guess you think you are the only person on this sight. Sister jundp was asking about your timeline for a couple reasons. 1) it provides valuable information readily to people when you ask for some kind of assistance. Sometimes timeframes are critical to the proper information being given. 2) timelines could also help others going through the process. They can determine what may lay ahead for them. But from your apparent attitude, you think you are the only one important on here. So I guess you can figure it out for yourself.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Well I was sitting here twiddling my thumbs and feeling pretty down about my situation so ended up reading this thread.

First off I'd like to say that (and I know this will be of no comfort to you - because essentially all any of us wants is to be with our loved one, not having to go through this process and all the intrusions related to it) < remembers to breathe > I'm sorry you've had so much trouble with your petitions, the longer the delay you experience the closer you must surely be getting to your goal, so don't lose heart.

I feel I must say something about people pouncing on MrsB for a couple of (what I feel are not intentionally nasty) remarks she has made.. she seems to be highly (and understandably) frustrated with a situation that is long overdue for a resolution. I think the "enjoy the timeline" remark was surely read in a far more malicious tone than was intended by MrsB (at least I hope so, I for one didn't read as being bad).

Now I shall go back to sit under my little black rain cloud and try to think positively about my case which hasn't been touched

Happily married (save for distance) since August 2008!

I didn't take that to be rude. I took it as a joke since everyone has been telling her to post a timeline from the beginning of her thread.

MrsB, I don't know what to tell you. You really need to get more senators/congressmen involved. Definitely contact the Ombudsman. USCIS really does not give a darn about you or your case. You and your husband are the ones that have to make this happen. I know it's not fair and I know that your situation is ridiculously flawed by THEIR errors... but as you can already see, they are not going to fix the problem so you have to. Why don't you try writing letters directly to the service center and address them to the director? I know it seems far fetched, but you might get somewhere with it. It might just happen to fall into someone's hands that actually has a heart, who can find your case and see what is really going on with it. I would write a long, heart felt letter, explaining that it's been so long, all the steps you've already taken, and literally beg someone to pull the file and look at it and tell you what is the delay???

I wish you the best of luck!

MrsB: keep strong!!!!! try to send letters to your congressmen or to USCIS or you can ask your husband to ask for an Infopass so he can talk to one of the people over there....good luck!!
