don't forget about the pillow silencer held over the muzzle.

if the man was killed in the street ummmm...why would someone have a pillow with them? i guess it doesn't specifically say if it's in the street or in a house. hmmmm...

UPDATE

COVINA - A transient died Thursday night after being fatally shot once in the neck.

Ocie Daniel May, 26, was slain in an attack in an alleyway in the 600 block of East Ruddock Street. The slaying apparently followed an altercation. It occurred about 8 p.m., investigators said.

It was the second homicide in the neighborhood in less than a year, Covina police Sgt. Trevor Gaumer said Friday.

Gaumer described May as a transient, but noted May was prominent in the neighborhood where he was shot.

"He was in the neighborhood a lot," Gaumer said. "He seemed to be well known. This was where he did his activity."

Although Gaumer said the shooting did not appear to be gang-related, neighbors expressed fear Friday that their streets were being taken over by gang members.

"All these poor little families," said one neighbor who asked not to be identified for fear of retaliation.

"Believe me there are gangs in this neighborhood," she added. "El Monte Flores, Azusa 13, and the West Covina Mob. It's becoming dangerous."

The neighbor said drugs are sold openly among the apartment complexes surrounding the location.

Gaumer acknowledged the neighborhood has its share of criminal activity.

An autopsy on May has not been performed, but may be performed today, said Craig Harvey, Operations Chief for the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner.

Initial reports indicate that May was killed in the alley of an apartment complex after a fight broke out.

Friends set up a memorial of candles and carnations at the site of the slaying Friday morning.
