Im so excited. I faxed my documents yesterday and I emailed Vancouver consulate to inquire if they received it and if i have an interview already. I gave them 7 dates in april for an interview. My interview is on April 9th!! woohoo!! but that's not too far away. I have been packing and trying to sell everything I dont need to bring with me. i still have a lot to go and trying to minimize the boxes. lol. So i need help from K3 applicants who already made the move. I need to cover my butt as I wont be able to cross the border for a few months.

* I am leasing my car and transferring it to my dad. Not taking the car with me. too much hassle and I wont have income coming in for any of that.

* Should I cancel my Provincial Medical right away?

* I talked to my creditors and they agreed to hold my payments for the next 2-3 months with no penalty fee!! luck is on my side!... i just have to make bigger payments until i have caught up or start collecting some money or when i can collect EI. (which i doubt since im K3)

* Speaking of Credit, how do i build up my credit when my husband cant even put me on his bank account b/c I have no SSN. The bank said i need a SSN to have a joint account (debit/credit)????? any thoughts? I have a joint cell phone plan with him. does that count towards my adjustment of status evidences? lol

* Banking: Should I leave my bank card with a trusted family member? i need someone to make payments while i am gone. I spoke to some canadian banks and they said i cannot do email bank transfers to US account. Can I transfer funds with my paypal?

* my mother in law called the clinics in their county today and Gardisil costs $171 per shot!!!!! that's crazy. but it cost $147 per shot @ Walmart here or $430 or something if i get the set. And I need to complete it before I go through my AOS. Ok i guess i'll just get all shots here. But would the doctors allow me to get all 3 shots in a short period of time? is that allowed? My doctor told me that its stupid why the US immigration has to do this when I am already married and almost 26. its not even worth getting it and told me to have a talk to whoever is in charge and dispute it as its not necessary since im married. LOL. My doctor rocks (btw she has nothing against the vaccine). I told her i have to get it. US law and all that. lol

* Any other documents I should bring with me from Canada that may help?

* any comfort food i should bring? i cant think of anything other than going to the filipino market b/c I've hooked my husband's family with filipino food.

First off, congratulations on the interview date!! How lucky it's so close! (F)

Don't cancel your provincial health care until you get to the US. You might need it up until the last day!

How nice that your creditors are going to give you some time off for payments as well.

Get your SSN as soon as you get to the US. Then you can be put on his account. Being on his bank accounts is only ONE piece of information as evidence in the AOS applications. Don't worry!

You should be checking out and joining customhouse. Sign up today in order to transfer money between your US accounts and Canadian accounts. www.customhouse.com. It doesn't cost any money. Yes you could use paypal, however that costs money.

Leaving your debit card with a family member is a great idea so that they can deposit money into your account.

Since you're married, are you going to be on your husband's health coverage upon arrival? Will they cover your Gardysil shots? Are they cheaper here in the US? Something to look into...

There was a spreadsheet posted (might be on Krikit's signature) of Canadian foods you might want to bring down with you that are either not here, or they don't taste the same.

Can't think of anything else right now. Sounds like you're excited and running around like a chicken with it's head cut off!

haha i am driving myself crazy. i've got a notebook full of notes but sometimes i forget to write stuff and remember later on and i get distracted when i remember something else and drop what i am currently doing. lol. Plus my reception is happening this weekend so ya you can say i need a day off or two. lol

Thanks for the bank info. I've been trying to find a free bank transfer instead of doing money transfers (which is $25 per transaction with my bank... wow). I will read up on that.

I wish i can get an SSN right away...... im K3 and need to adjust my status.

As for Gardasil... I'm going straight to BC Desease control @ their STD clinic. A friend told me that they offered him all these free shots when he went there for just a check up. They told him about HPV shots too and he said its worth to check it out. AT this point, i'm ready to save as much pennies as I can. My husband has medical but i dont think we are covered. :(

I knew there were going to be a lot to do when i go through the K3 process. But at this point, i learned to go with the flow and just do everything I can to prepare.

Thanks for the info
