Just got my oath letter today I'm scheduled on 3/4 in Oakland. Good luck to everyone!!

Wife had her interview February 2nd, Passed, asked lots of questions from the N-400, how did you meet your husband? work, how many trips outside the US?+++, had to write The White House has a big tree and read I live in the state of California.

Questions asked:

What do we celebrate on the 4th of July?

Who is the Vice president of the US?

What is the Constitution?

Why are there 100 Senators in the US?

What is the National Athem?

The interviewing officer said the ceremony would be on February 19th andshe would recieve the notice in the mail .

My wife received her letter for the Oath Ceremony February 19th at 8:00am.

Still no sign of an interview in Indianapolis, but I did get a yellow letter in the mail on Friday saying that having reviewed my file blah blah I need to bring the following documents with me to my interview (but no interview date). Basically proof of divorce of previous marriages for both myself and hubby. They also wanted to see birth certs of all children born to us since arriving in the USA, but since we are past all that it doesn't apply!

Indianapolis has updated its processing dates to say that it is working on march 2008, so by my reckoning it will be another 6 months!!! But then someone who applied in October 2008 has already had their interview, so that's not necessarily true.

Here's hoping that now someone has actually picked up my file, that they will send me a date. Oh and my online status has not changed either.

I was wanting to go home for a visit in March so I don't really want to book cheap non-refundable tickets if I am likely to get an interview soon. Oh such indecision!

Having spent all these months wishing every day that my interview letter is in the mailbox, now I find myself praying it is not! I finally booked flights to go on vacation to England on March 6th for a couple of weeks. Sod's law that the interview will be scheduled for while I am away.

Does anyone know what would happen if I ask for an appointment to be rescheduled? The tickets are non-refundable/non-exchangable.

I was approved!!!!!!!

My appointment was at 11:45 am this morning but I got called at 12:15. The officer was very nice and asked me to confirm most of the questions asked on the N-400 (e.g. are you a member of the communist party), asked me to sign my photos, asked me to read a sentence and write one (i don't remember them) and sign the form, then proceeded to ask the test questions. I took the old test. I don't remember all of the questions, but I remember those:

who is the president of the united states

what is the purpose of the united nations

how many stars on the flag

who becomes president if the president and vice president die

who was martin luther king

what is the capitol

He asked me 10 questions, not just those 6.

Then he said congratulation I was approved, and asked me if i was available to take the oath next wednesday. I was shocked!!!! So of course I said yes, and he asked me to wait outside for his supervisor to review the application and give me the oath letter.

10mn later i got the oath invitation for next wednesday!!!!! I'm so excited!

Had my interview today at the San Juan District Office at 7:30 in the morning, got asked the History questions, got the first 6 correct so i didn't have to do the other four, passed the reading and writing part, got the oath ceremony on the 26th of this month (2 weeks time) in El Morro, San Juan.

Sooooooooooooo from start to finish, got it done in 5 months flat!..

San Juan district office is pretty fast!

The officer said the number of applications dropped dramatically since they increased the fee, but maybe Los Angeles has a backlog for oaths? The San Diego location can hold 10000 people he said, but he expects about 500 new citizens and about 2000 friends and family coming next wednesday. They hold this every month.
