this reminds me of VJ Off Topic

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

What a good find. Progressive my ###. Progressive when one's views support that of their own. They want to ram their personal views down everyone else's throat yet refuse to accept others political views. You know, the type of 'view' that the first amendment actually covers and protects. Dam straight this is a sign of communism. A key factor of Communism is the suppression of other people's views, ie, the 'silencing' of anyone with opposing views.

You know what racks me up the most, that these intelligent liberals are living in the heart of capitalism NYC.

The conservatives get suckered in and fight their wars. #### them.. The conservatives should just sit back and relax after the next terrorist attack. Let these guys fight their own wars, if they are still around. Why waste your lives to protect douche bags like these.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Again, a bunch of woosies if they can't take being 'shouted' at. How sad, too bad.

It's like this ridiculous game the right play here on VJ, oh, you libruls, you are not allowed to get angry, that's hypocritical. Yeah, right...

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

However, this does go to the heart of what was brought up earlier, that there is an inherent danger in focusing on one group as the 'bad guys', particularly the 'intellectual elite' angle. Heckling is what it is, deal with it.

Yeah I would like to see you say half the stuff you say here to my face. I would pay for that opportunity.

Yeah, I am going to comment on this. If we are going to read a bunch of threads that are anti-McCain or how McCain supporters or the GOP is doing this or that to silence voters who don't agree with them, then this is definitely fair. In essence, the people shouting and being obnoxious are trying to silence or treat those people as dumb or idiots who are voting for McCain. If anyone acts like that, they are complete idiots IMO. The whole "wake up! wake up!" shouting lady does remind me of some VJers. :P These people may have looked like a bunch of nuts though walking down the street like this though, hehe. I think I did hear a few supportive cheers though. lol A few. What can ya do. It does seem many people want others to be open minded but don't apply that to themselves. Open minded to me does not mean to agree, but to accept there are those who don't agree with you and how you treat people who don't agree with you says a lot about a person IMO.

Oh give over - noone is "suppressing" anyone's views.

They have the right to have a rally (and they did). Others have the right to heckle them (and they did).

OK.

Show us the positives in the pro-McCain argument that doesn't involve non-issues.

Lets lead by example.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Are you asking me to say every reason I am voting for McCain over Obama? Things I think are positive are not going to sound positive to an Obama supporter I bet.

I am still not getting how 'heckling' has somehow become some shocking form of expression. It's normal behaviour, in fact this is pretty lame as heckling goes. No one has surpressed the marches rights. No one has stopped them marching, or tried to tear down their banners or threatened them with any form of violence. Whether it is strictly 'good form' or not is another question, but it isn't something that necessitates intervention.

One has to wonder how this video was edited as well - at least a thinking person does :)

I suspect it depends how partisan people are.

An Independent will likely have different priorities than someone who consistently votes for a party using preconceived ideas about what the candidates represent.

Actually, no. How you feel is entirely up to you. No one can make you feel dumb or stupid.

What's happening here is that McCain supporters are exercising their First Amendment rights and Obama supporters are exercising theirs.

It's what this country is all about.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

They have the right to have a rally (and they did). Others have the right to heckle them (and they did).

Would you be saying the same thing if this was reversed? Don't even bother saying yes..

This is a concept that even your little brain should be able to comprehend. Then again not really considering you are absolutely guilty of this yourself and have been caught out on many occasions, ie, hypocrisy and double standards.

Liberal Americans beat on and on and on about freedom of speech and its importance yet clearly do not accept this when it comes to others with opposing views. That is a fact. It is evident in this video. It is evident in this forum. To sit here and then play it down as simply being a cry baby is a joke.
