2007-07-27 – Case complete at NVC waiting on the world or at least MTL.

2007-12-19 - INTERVIEW AT MTL, SPLIT DECISION.

2007-12-24-Mom's I-551 arrives, Pop's still in purgatory (AP)

2008-03-11-AP all done, Pop is approved!!!!

Kinda disapointing to see no names on the bottom of that list have any interview dates scheduled. No interviews scheduled in Montreal(Minus Cndwife) Lets hope those names get dates soon!

Hey everybody waiting I just checked when I got my interview date and it was this day last month. So be ready as I had less than 3 weeks to my interview! I hope all the June group get to finish this

Me neither . . . at this point I'm assuming that Montreal has fallen behind even further and I won't see a December appointment. How it can end up taking them 3 months to get through the June case co

Hi badspellor,

That doesn't necessarily mean they are - some agents actually bother to check....some don't. As an indication of that - you mention they said they were done scheduling in July for August - I doubt they scheduled anyone in July for August - normally the interviews are 2 or 3 months after the scheduling.

Sometimes scheduling carries on through the 3rd week of the month, you might want to give them a call again on Friday :thumbs:

My husband got his Montreal Interview date yesterday! YAY!!!

I am so happy I can hardly sit still. We haven't gotten a letter yet, but the immigration caseworker from our Congressman's office contacted NVC on our behalf and got our date for us. Then NVC emailed today us with the same information.

I wonder if anyone else from VJ is going on August 22. Thanks to all the amazing folks on VJ - we are well prepared for the interivew. I love the Canadian forum btw.

I guess trailmix can now add us to the list. Yay!! I can't beleive it has been 400+ days since we filed our I-130. Whew. I wish everyone a speedy response for their interview dates.

Wow I sent my I-130 one day after you and received case complete one day after you! Unfortunately, I wasn't scheduled an interview yet. I was hoping that it would have been scheduled on the 11th like yours was but no such luck. I'm keeping my fingers crossed to hear something soon!

That's funny! I hope you get yours soon. Maybe you can try emailing NVC. They replied to my email within a week with our interview date. (Of course that was after our Congressman already told us :-)) but I don't know if the person who replied knew we had already gotten the info. We still haven't recived a letter though.

I've just been calling the NVC and asking the operator. I called last Friday and today and they gave me the same spiel about how they're finished their scheduling of interviews for this month and to check back after the 2nd week of August to see if we have one scheduled for September. I've seen that others have had their case transferred to the consulate in the middle of the fourth week of the month so I'll keep checking the automated system daily for a change and maybe talk to an operator every Friday until we hear something. With the volitility of flight prices, I'd like to know ASAP so we can book a good deal. At least YYT-YUL is one of the cheaper routes at about $220 one way IF you can get it on sale. Right now it's $345 =\ Hope I'll know when to book it for when the next sale comes along!

I called last Friday and today and they gave me the same spiel about how they're finished their scheduling of interviews for this month and to check back after the 2nd week of August to see if we have one scheduled for September. I've seen that others have had their case transferred to the consulate in the middle of the fourth week of the month so I'll keep checking the automated system daily for a change and maybe talk to an operator every Friday until we hear something. With the volitility of flight prices, I'd like to know ASAP so we can book a good deal. At least YYT-YUL is one of the cheaper routes at about $220 one way IF you can get it on sale. Right now it's $345 =\ Hope I'll know when to book it for when the next sale comes along!

If she was only coming from TO then that's what we'd do, but being that it'll be from St. John's, Newfoundland it's almost a 2,500km trek by car. Even so, I've done it several times but she's not bringing her car and it'd be double that for me to go up and get her (plus the 1,000km it takes me to get to Montreal), bring her down and I don't have that much vacation time from work as it's at least a very long 2 day jaunt (if you can manage 1500km of driving in one day after the ferry arrives AND it's not late). I've gone from the boat to PA in one day so it can be done! But they've upped the cost of the boat (fuel surcharge) and gas is more expensive now than it ever was so the cost of driving up and back (or even one way) exceeds that of flying right now, even with the exhorbitant rates. As far as public ground transportation, she'd have to take the DRL bus across the island (12 hours $150 IIRC), then take the boat (6 hours), then take the Acadian bus line to Truro because that's the closest spot the VIA rail runs and VIA rail from Truro to MTL is more expensive than a flight and it takes 10x as long! Now on the other hand if she lived in Labrador, I'd drive it. Flights out of there are running over $400 each way from Wabush to MTL and it's half the distance! Not sure what the train rate is up there but its probably cheaper than it is to fly. I sure miss having JetsGo and CanJet around. Having only Westjet and Air Canada to choose from really drives up prices. The Sunwing charters during the summer aren't much help either.
