NAME GAME

hI fellows!

Here is what happened to me:

When my spouse and I applied for VISA my maiden name was used.

Just before the interview date was set, I requested for name change to married name, I sent ammended passport copy. NVC sent letter of acknowledgment.

DURING THE INTERVIEW of the first CONSUL I REQUESTED THAT MY MARRIED NAME SHOULD BE PRINTED IN MY VISA.

When I paid for Delbros same date of the Interview, I sign my married name ON THE RECEIPT.

On the white paper togetehr with the Pink slip: there's a note saying "My full maiden name" then my AKA which is "My full married name"

when Delbros delivered my VISA what was printed is my maiden name not my married name....jeez!

On the Immigration data sheet and my VISA printed there was "slight" mistake because my AKAs are read as:

FIRST NAME, MIDDLE NAME (MY MOTHERS MAIDEN SURNAME) AND MY HUSBAND'S SURNAME

instead of

FIRST NAME, MY MAIDEN NAME (FATHER'S SURNAME) AND MY HUSBAND'S SURNAME.

I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO IF I HAVE TO PROTEST THAT "SLIGHT" MISTAKE..I WAS JUST TIRED TO RETURN IT FOR CORRECTION..COULD BE A LONG LONG PROCESS AGAIN?

SHALL I FILE TO CORRECT IT?

***AS I ANNOUNCED BEFORE IT'S LIKELY THAT I WILL NOT BE FLYING TO UNITED STATES BECAUSE MY HUSBAND STILL ENLISTED IN KOREA, ALSO I HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION, I AM PREGNANT, SO IT'S REALLY A MUST TAHT VISA IS ALWAYS READILY AVAILABLE BECAUSE OUR PLANS IS ALWAYS SUBJECT TO CHANGE, PREFERABLY WE WANT OUR VISA TO BE READY AND SHOULD NO WAITING GAME*******

CLARIFICATION:

FOR EXAMPLE MY NAME WHEN I WAS SINGLE IS:

BLAIRBITCH WITCH KNIGHT

WHEN I GOT MARRIED IT BECOME:

BLAIRBITCH KNIGHT AWESOME

BUT VISA AND IDS PRINTED IT AS BLAIRBITCH WITCH AWESOME

WITCH IS MY MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME AND IT SHOULD GOT ELIMANATED, NOW THAT I AM MARRIED BECAUSE MY MIDDLE NAME SHOULD BE MY SINGLE NAME'S SURNAME...

AM I CORRECT????

that is because you change mid way through if you would of filed right from begining useing your married name. then there would of been no problems. sorry for you troubles but you have to go get it corrected as same as your passport or it isnt valid and wont be allowed to travel good luck

Sorry to hear about the name discrepancy you got. Anyhow, we also applied using my maiden name but since we took the K3 route, I was able to changed my name to my married name as they based the information on the DS-156 and DS-157 I submitted during my interview. I think it would be best for you to have it corrected to avoid problems in the future i.e. your POE. God Bless.

Oh, I remembered that I submitted DS-230 (Application for Immigrant VISA) under my MARRIED NAME all ready. I got acknowledgment from NVC, I got my passport ammended too. I did that before submitting the rest of the evidences.

It's fine with me if they still use my maiden name printed on the VISA, what pisses me off is that they "rumble" my name when it is clear to all of my applications and tehy even indicated it on the White paper and Delbros receipt all of my AKAs. They even did not indicate my proper AKAs on the Immigration Data Summary.

well they got you old name from some where. so i am figuring they also use the I-129f and 130 as main source of information alot of post and all i know and i have seen there was problems when name was changed mid way through anyway good luck
