and so i arrived at detroit airport..

been so excited and that i wanted to be in chicago to be with my baby soon..

my stopover in detroit is for 2 hours..

after getting off the plane..

i passed the escalator and a filipina greeted me so warm..

i bet she noticed i was carrying my xray film..:P

she said.. "dito po ang daan nyo"..

and pointed to her left side where the visitors will pass the immigration..

at the immigration i was the third from the line..

the first one is a filipino and the second is a japanese..

the immigration officer asked for my passport and the immigration form which we filled out inside thplane..

he asked for my xray and checked the vaccine certificate..

i asked him if he needs the "secret envelope".. he said another officer will ask that from me..

then he changed his mind and asked for the packet..

he browse on it and asked me few questions like..

-who's petitioner?

-where did we meet?

-did he visit me in the philippines?

-what does my fiance do?

-and do i know that we need to get married within 90 days?

after answerin the questions..

i did the finger scannin and he took my picture..

he attached the I-94 then stamped my passport..

he said dont forget to get ur luggage ma'am..

and the much awaited "welcome to the united states of america"..:dancing:

then i said "thank you soooooooooooo much!"

whew! what a relief!

i immediately went to pick up my luggage..

after that i passed the customs and it was so funny..

the custom officer asked me..

ma'am what's in ur luggage..

i said they're all my personal stuff..

she said, "ma'am do u have fruits, foods, seeds, snails, or insectes in it?"

i was like.. #######!

hahahahaha!

done with the immigration now i went to my connecting flight..

detroit airport is so big..

it's like a mall.. almost..

i waited 2 hrs for my next flight to chicago..

but i wasnt bored at all.. i was with a couple..

a filipina and an american guy..

they're were also in K1 before..

and what shocked me was..

they're were in K1 like 1979..

i was like.. "whoa.. i was born 1982!"..

and the american guy can speak fluent tagalog!

and s0 the time came to fly to chicago..:dancing:

there were so many pinoys that i got to meet and talk to during my flight..

and they were all very helpful..

this is sherl.. this is my POE experince..

Welcome to America!:dance::dance: Glad you made it safe and sound... How come no post on what happened when you and your sweetheart finally met at the airport? I was so looking forward to kissing and hugging part.:blush: BTW, you're the first person that I know of, who had the X-ray film checked at POE. Good thing you were handcarrying it. During my POE, they didn't even care to look at mine so after I was processed, I stucked the film on my box, which was tied with a thick rope.

Now the adjustment period begins for you. Best wishes!

Welcome to America and thanks for sharing your experience!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

the northwest officer asked him to show it to her..

he brought it out.. it was in a drawing tube..

i said yes and handed the xray envelope to him.. :)
